Question about Samsung HCN4226W 42" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
There are blue tinted vertical lines running across the screen. They increase in width from left to right, start at about 1" wide on left and get up to 4" wide as they approach midscreen, then disappear. Also there is an offset ghosting to the images on the screen. In general the color is off due to all of these issues.
I thought maybe a bulb replacement would suffice but am not sure if there is a deeper issue that will still affect performance after a new bulb is put in.
You have a convergence problem. You can replace this module cheaper than it can be repaired. It is so easy to do and electronics skill level is not required. If you can unplug the TV and remove the rear cover, then you can do this repair yourself.1 screw and 5 connections(plug in) is all it takes. The part number you need to order is BP95-00142E convergence amp. I would google search it and find it at the lowest cost to you.Good luck and please rate my information.
