Display says "Protected Card"

I have a Fuji Finepix A805. When I turn it on the display says "Protected Card" and does not allow me to take any pictures. What does this mean? Can it be cleared?

Yes. Take your card out and on the side there is a switch that slides. Move it up (on the label there is a lock and it's pointing down) Please rate my answer. I hope this helps!

It says protected card when i turn it on

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

How do I upload pics from my Fuji FinePix A805 to my computer?

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Memory card is protected how do i unprotect it ?

Remove the card from the camera and look along the long edges of the card for a small tab. Slide the tab to the "Unlock" position (closest to the contacts of the card), and return to the camera. You should be good to go!

My fugifilm finepix A805 has ! FRAME NO. FULL and my card is now empty. It won't let me take pictures and I can't get that message off my display screen

Your Counter has reached 999.999
Here's what you do.
Make sure you have no pictures on your card to start with.
Place the card in the camera and turn it on.
Press "Menu" and go to the "Set" menu and select "Format". This will wipe your card completely clean. When this is done select "Frame No" in the set up menu and set it to "Renew".
Now come out of the menu options and take a picture.
When you review your picture the counter should read 100.001
Now go back to the set up menu and reselect "Frame no." and set to continuous ("Cont.")
Happy snapping

Fuji Finepix A805 was dropped out of a vehicle and rained on before it was found. It won't turn on now, no response at all. Any ideas?

Possibly had it. Water damage, if it gets a lot in it, is usually terminal. Dropping it wont do a lot of good either. If you intend to have a go at repair then you can email for advice/help. my email address is posted in the tips& tricks section for Fuji under "THE ONLY WAY I KNOW HOW..." Good luck.

Turn camera from "off" to "play" ( photo view..._

Pressing the “MENU/OK” button as you would to erases files. There is an option to format the xD-Picture Card. Formatting erases protected files, but allows you to then take photos.
