Question about Canon ZR100 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Hi Folks My ZR100 went for a swim in salt water. I'm sure it's a paper weight, well almost, but may try to send it in for an estimate. The Problem is the tape is stuck inside the camera and I need the tape. How do I remove the tape without power? I need more detail then turning the motor. How do I get to the motor that releases the tape? Are there schematics online for this camera? Thanks m
1-800-ok-canon is the number unfortunatley there isnt a mauual way to open it without breaking something, in any manual posted. Best advice is to call and ask plus you can get a quote for repairs while your on...Sorry

Tips for a great answer:
This can be caused by several problems including the transmission gear in the tape mechanism not engaging properly or a defective clutch in the take-up spool and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.
My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.
