Awwwww The old HO7 code!! This code means that the spindle motor did not come up to speed and the only way to fix it is to first find out if its the driver servo circuit thats bad or the spindle motor itself is defective. If you know how to trouble shoot a motor speed control servo sure you can fix it, But theres no easy wand waving fix for this unit. Sorry. If its an older unit you want to consider buying a new one as it may not pay to estimate the unit and have it fixed . The balls in your court now my friend. Good Luck

SOURCE: does not play DVD and displays HO7. We have tried

This normally means the spindle motor is faulty, there is a little coupler and this splits, this will cause the machine not to load.

Testimonial: "Thank you for your help. Does that meen that the DVD player can not be repaired by me?"

SOURCE: Panasonic DVD player RV62 H07 message - disc

You can try to clean the laser by opening the unit and wiping gently with a cue tip or cotton swab, but if you are getting a H07 errorit may be somethng more serious and require a replacementof the dvd drive.I hope this helps. Good luck.

Panasonic DVD Player. Reads DVD then says HO7 and then STOP. PLAY DOES NOT PLAY

Common failure of the spindle motor/laser assembly. Also known as the traverse unit, which can cost more than a new player to replace. Not a consumer-repairable part.

Panasonic DVD-CV52 Multi-disc DVD Player? H07 error

HELLO

Ah, the infamous HO7 error! This is to do with the disc motor and there is a solution which MIGHT work for you (it did for me).

You need some sewing machine oil and a precision oiler. Don't be tempted to use WD40 as it will get everywhere and is not really suitable. Just put a couple of drops into the spindle (disc) motor. Where the shaft goes into the motor and leave it for about an hour or so then try it again.

The only real solution is to replace the disc motor, but this can be a fix depending on the situation. Give it a try - what have you got to lose?

GOOD LUCK!

Keep getting an error message that says HO7

The spindle motor is faulty, you can spray wd40 into the motor where the spindle goes in,leave for a while.

Dvd/cd player model no dvd-cv52, displaying HO7. have unpluged from power, and cleaned disc.

HELLO

I have just recently posted a cure for this - but here we go again. Fault H07 is the fault code for the spindle/disc motor and to cure it do this!
With the lid of the player removed, locate the spindle and where the motor shaft goes into the motor itself, use a little light oil or WD40. Don't drench the area or you'll really have fun cleaning it up!

Let it soak in a while and try it again - you should now find it works.

I am now finding quite a few owners of Panasonic DVD players are starting to get this message on the display. The same happened to me!

I wish you luck! (:-)

I have a Panasonic DVD player, model no: DVD-RV32, that is displaying the message "H07". What does this mean?

Here's the fix http://www.ledcar.com/pdvdh07/
I've replaced the motor once before on my 5 disk player to fix the HO7 error. The second time it appeared I tried the fix at the above link instead of going thru the hassel of the repair shop.

You may need to apply WD40 multiple times to cure the problem, depending on how stiff the rotation of the spindle feels. After the first application the player ran for about 5 minutes before the HO7 error reappeared. After the second application we watched an entire movie with no issues. we'll see how long this lasts. The fix was simple and hopefully wont have to be repeated soon.

Getting "HO7" when loading disc

After calling Panasonic, they suggested pressing the reverse skip (<<) button, the pause button and the open/close button all at the same time. The DVD player will then say "initialize." Turn off the player and unplug it for about 1-2 minutes. Plug it back in and turn on the player and load a disc. If the HO7 error code pops back up, you need to take it to a dealership for service. Or, at the price of DVD players these days, just get a new one - which is where I'm going right now.
