I have a sharp 20" (Model LC-20SH1U) That wont power on

Chances of lightning damaging the power cord are slim to none, unfortunately it could be almost any board in the set, check the various power supply voltages on the boards and see if they are correct, almost every board has a power supply in it

The clicking sound may be a power relay coming on and then off--problem indicates a trouble in the main power supply.

What do 2 blinks and a picture with no backlights?

Due to the proprietary connector on the TV, you'll probably not find one available from a third party. A search reveals that several sites offer the UADP-0220CEZZ as a compatible power supply for your TV. The supplier of the picture above offers one for $159. Still, others can be found by checking the links returned from Google, shown here. You may have luck by checking on ebay from time to time, too. Finally, Sharp USA offers this part for $167. Copy UADP-0220CEZZ into the "Accessory Model #" box and click "Search". Strangely, placing "LC-20A2U" in the Product Model number box and selecting Power Supplies and cords does not come up with a part.

hi there, yes sometimes cut or wounded power cord actually result to no power at all. But if it still good try to trace down busted fuse. if fuse also good well it could be a defective power supply, defective power mosfet, or bulgy/leaky capacitors. if this is th e problem now, its better to let a service technician to be of assistant. well good day, hope it helps. Your power supply unit needs servicing on some part replacements. bad capacitors, voltage regulators, hi-watt resistors,....etc

it is 99% certain that what needs to be replaced is the power board.

That's the #1 problem across the board with TVs that work for some time and then start behaving like you describe.

If you know what a scredriver is I'd suggest you do it yourself.

You can seek for a new board on eBay or through Google. I'd search for "LC-37GD6U power board".

If you don't find one you'd start searching for other similar TVs and compare the pictures of the board with what you pull out of yours.

Of course you can have a technician do all that for you for a $150 more.

Unfortunately not, they are not sold here in the States at this time.

Looks like the flyback (high voltage transformer and probably the majority of the power board is kaput. It would be cheaper and probably worth your while to invest in a new TV rather than try to fix this one..
