I had this problem recently with my IP90. Both the black and color heads were clogged. After running the "canned" routines several times to clean the heads and deep clean the heads...still didn't help...here's what I did:

1. open the top lid to have the cartridges that are inserted in the print head move to the middle of the printer.
2. remove both cartridges
3. What is left there is the print head holder. Slightly move it to the right and gently lift the print head lock.
4. Grasp the print head and lift it out of the tank.
5. Have several paper towels hand and know that you will have color and bw ink on your fingers
6. Put the print head on the paper towel
7. Pour rubbing alcohol on the blk and color heads and let them sit of about 10-15 minutes.
8. after that dry the heads and re-insert them in the printer
9. I put new cartridges in the printer and ran clean and deep clean a few times.
10. My color and black and white print came right back!

Hope this helps.

Switch to composite black, print out 3 pages, then go back to regular black. It could be a software problem.

My new canon ip90 printer won't print anything goes through all the motions but no ink comes out. brand new cartridges in it?

Is the shipping cover still on the printhead? If it has been removed, wipe the printhead with a damp paper towel to see if the head is plugged. If ink is present on the towel, do a print head clean from the maintenance menu.

IP90 won't print black. Replaced ink, deep cleaned heads, etc. Will print color, but not black.

You probably need a new printhead, but there is also a new update for that machine to help clean the black part of the printhead. QY6-0052-000 is the printhead #

My canon i90 printer wont print. it appears to working perfect but the result is a blank paper. i have installed new cartiages & run all maintenance functions.

It sounds like the printhead is plugged, but there is also a firmware upgrade that helps position the printhead for better cleaning, Canon suggests you try deep cleaning 3 times in printer maint. from the properties menu before replacing the printhead. I use a syringe to put a couple drops of water on the cleaning pads on the right to help with cleaning.

The black cartrige isnt working, its new, i've cleaned the head...now what do i do?

You may need a new printhead, but also there's a firmware update that helps position the head for better black cleaning and priming. I would recommend a shop for this upgrade. Try also to blot the printhead on a damp paper towel just damp with water to help clean.

Ip90 printer does not print blac on a test after

Sounds like the printhead is plugged on the black side. A new printhead is #qy6-0052-000 around $40.00. That model also needs a firmware update to help it clean the printhead better.

Canon IP90 portable . No ink printing.

Have you performed a nozzle test? If one or more of the colors is missing when you do the nozzle test, the printhead itself is likely in need of replacement.

Before considering replacment, perform a clean on the printer. Due to variations between mac and pc, please see your documentation / support files on how to perform the clean on your printer.

After performing the clean, again perform the nozzle check to see if the problem is resolved.

If still not resolved, remove and re-install any cartridges you recently replaced to make certain they are installed correctly.
