You will need to first allow sharing of files and folders.

Then, in Windows Explorer, right click the directory of the files you want to share.

Then, on the computer that you want to access the shared files of the other computer, you will need to login to that computer by scrolling down to Computers near me and finding the computer you want to access. Login.

At least that how I do it.

Let me know if this works for you, or I will find a website to point you to.

Hello.

If you have a router, check the physical connections to the router and reset the router. If still a problem, the router could be faulty.

Contact Sky Broadband for them to check their connection.

Hope this helps.

One PC will not connect to Router and therefore Internet.

Sounds to me like the problem is related to the PC hardware. Please check the following in your PC:

- Network card is properly working
- Network cable connecting to the PC is properly working

Connectivity problem.

Hi Bidush,

You might wanna check out your notebook to find out if you have any firewall blocking any attempts to connect to nearby wifi. Also, if your notebook comes with intel proset wireless feature, try to make use of that for connnecting to the wireless lan instead of the default microsoft method of connecting (much easier and user friendly).

On the other hand, please do check on the router if you have enabled any form of security feature (mac authentification, wep encryption method, etc) that prevents your notebook from "seeing" the router.

Although these are just surface steps, it is important to makes sure these areas are clear before we go in to further zero in on the problem. I would like to follow up with you on this, so please kindly update me on the situation by replaying to this post and we take it from there. Thank you.

Sky Broadband Connects for a few seconds and then goes, rarely to return

Use "free" Sky broadband setup disk to automate and save username, password, network connection, LAN/wireless properties, MAC, IP, subnet, gateway, etc on her computer, exactly as your own working system. Change her computer's IP address last digit next available number up or down: yours 192.168.1.1, hers 192.168.1.2 etc.

How do i configure my Belkin router to work with Sky broadband?

I'm not into hacking what I cannot find on ISP's sites

From what I can gather from the Sky Broadband site reading the manual installation procedures -- the process is pretty much automatic when it comes to installing their equipment leaving no clues as to how they configure it. What is the model if the Belkin router? Options probably exist to attach your device to theirs either as a router (establishing a second network behind theirs) or an access point joining as a member of their network - meaning there would would be two wireless networks in either case in the house (as there are no indications I have found on the site that the provided the sky router can be configured in any way such as turning off wireless). At least according to the documentation the sky router's wireless is running WPA-PSK security / encryption which is good -- and the documentation for attaching non-sky wireless adapters appears to be documented here.
