Hitachi 55hds69 powers on no picture blue led blinks 8 times

Replaced power supply already no change, main board leds blink in sequence and shut off during power on.(Which is how they should)
After blue led blinks 8 times it will go to amber.
appears that voltages are not getting generated for the x and y

Customer said problem occurred after power outage, tv worked initially for couple hrs then went off. Thats why we tried power supply first no change, could not find what 8 blinks mean

Thta is clearly not power board problem, if you have anough knowledge to DIY, then buy the service manual and follow troubleshooting diagrams, you always need to test the parts before replacing them.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board

I got a 55 inch Samsung flat panel tv model # UN55D6000Sf Version H302 with standby light blinking 1 time in repeat. I have changed the power supply board, main board & tcon board but still no luc

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

When the TV is turned on there is no picture with a verticle line throught the screen. I took the cover off the back and the orange LED light is blinking. The other LEDs are not illuminated.

Hi nikianddonni,

First of all, thank you for posting your question here at Fixya.

I'm assuming here that your TV is Hitachi 55HDS69.

Yes, the digital main board has 5 LED called "knight rider". After "power on" these LED will be turned on in sequence, it may take a few seconds then after the program is loaded without error, all LED will be turned off. All LED should not lit. If some errors occur, it will give an error code through the LED(s).

My first advice is, to unplug the unit from the outlet for at least 1 hour and then check if the symptoms remain the same. If yes, please let me know which LED( D201, D202, D203, D204, D205 ) lit solid/flashing to pinpoint where the fault came from and provide you resolution to fix the problem.
Thank you for your patience...

I just went through this as many others have done so I am sure that Hitachi knows it to be a manufacturing and software problem but will not do right by the customers. Judging by the date of your request you may have already found the repair.

The main digital board (part #JP50763) on my 55HDT79 manufactured in Feb 2007 fouled and had to be replaced. It has the new software on it that is supposed to prevent the problem from recurring. Bad news is that the final cost to me was 25% of the original price. Just the board costs $433.00.

Power Problem

usually blink code on front gives direction but first thing to do would be to determine if surrounding sustain boards are causing draw on power supply by disconnecting them one at a time from power supply. y is on left looking from back and x is on right looking from back. if led goes solid with either board disconnected check supply voltages and if come up and stay up replace that board. if no change then you would need to verify vs on command coming from logic main to power supply. should be labeled on power supply connector and should be 3 volts. if present replace power supply if not present verify if logic main board sitting underneath signal board has one solid and one blinking led on if verifying normal operation and if so replace small signal board

NO PICTURE

7 blink error on that model is 8.6 volt error and generally caused by y main board. disconnect y main from power supply and if tv does not shut down and vs voltage comes up (test point on power supply) replace y main and both y upper and lower buffer boards as replacing one without other two could cause additional failures

Philips 42PF7320A/37 won't power up Led blinks 7 times

This what to do measure from the logic board which is located under the small signal board and have the AV jacks connected to it. If the voltage is 3.1 or close the problem is with the power supply or a boar connected to the power supply. Unplug the set. Disconnect the Y main board first that will be on the left side of the set facing the back. Plug the set back in if the led is solid replace the Y main and the Y upper lower. If still blinking plug the Y main back in and unplug the X main which is on the right side facing the back. If the led is green replace the X main. If the led is still blinking replace the power supply.
But if the volts are 0 the problem is the SSB or the logic board. In that case take the (SSB) small signal board out the set and place 1 jumper on J8003 and another jumper J8004 of the left side of the power supply. Then place 1 jumper on CN2072 of the lower left part of the logic board. Plug the set back in if the set displays a white, blue ect screen replace the SSB. If not and on the logic board you don't have 1 solid blue led and 1 blinking led data is not flowing and change the logic board.
