This usually means that the optics are either dirty or starting to fail. Try openin gup the unit and carefully cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Once complete, if a music CD will play but DVD will not, the optics are failing and will need to be replaced.

Keep us posted,
Dan

Can I copy photos to a DVD and have it work in a TV? Can I put .jpeg files on a DVD and then put it in a DVD player and have the photos displayed on the TV?

Yes.
Most DVD players made since 1999 are .JPG compatible.
Create your DVD in the computer, without folders...just drag & drop the pic files to the disk for burning, and insure the burner is set to "Finalize" the disk just like making any movie disk.
Your DVD player will recognize the files, and play them in slideshow format.

DVD Player does not recognize disk and displays 'insert disk' message.

Sounds like compatibility issues, your player maybe old enough not beable to recognize newer disc.

No recognize disks CD and formats MP3

I work for Coby technical support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-727-3592.

Unfortunately, if the player will no longer read any commercial cd that you attempt to play or MP3 disks, the unit is defective and needs to be replaced. The unit has a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase. You will need the receipt in order to receive a warranty exchange.

If you feel this solution doesn't deserve a good rating, please let me know why so that I may better assist you. If there is anything more I can do to help, I will!

Doesn't recognize disks anymore

This is a common problem with the Lite-on LVW range of DVD recorders due to changes in the construction of more recent DVD R media. It can be solved with a relatively simple firmware upgrade.

Goto : http://r00.liteonit.com.tw/DC/english/download/index.asp

You'll need to have a blank CD and a CD/DVD writer in the PC you use to download the file.

Follow the instructions on the website to upgrade your firmware, this should then allow you to write to DVD's once again.
