NO SOUND ON MY TV

check the simple things:

Does set have sound when a DVD etc. is connected via the audio/video jacks?

If using a box check to see volume not turned way down there (unplug box and after a short wait plug it back to let it reboot).

check in main menu that Speakers are not switched OFF.

If set has hook ups for external speakers--is set turned to Internal or External?

if no to all the above you have a audio circuit problem

My sound is out

SPEAKERS TURNED off (see set menu)
Internal/external switch for speakers in wrong position
Sound muted either on set or a BOX or volume turned way down on either.
Audio menu set to SAP or similar.

If you have sound with a DVD etc connected to rear audio/video inputs set has something set wrong and it is not likely the set causing this.

Akai is really Samsung (they own the name).

failing all above you may have a audio circuit failure but 90% of the time it is a setting in the box or TV or a hook up issue.

I just bought a 32 in samsung tv.. the audio worked fine until I had the cable guy come and install the cable box on it.. Now I turn it all the way to 100 and still can't hear it very well.. any...

Try adjusting the volume on the cable box. The cable box should have a on-screen volume control, try setting it up some. You may have to navigate around to find where you control the cable box volume but it should be there.

Intermittently my Vizio model e370va volume will rise on its own and get distorted then turn off and in a few seconds, turn on the TV. Visio tried replacing the power board. Same problem. Replaced the TV...

I was having the same issue. I found this on Fixya and it seems to have worked.

Okay I just called and found this out. I have the 32 inch vizio hd flat screen. My problem with weak and fluctuating volume, was that I have a cable box. Go into menu, then audio and under the advanced audio section you will see srs trusurround HD and srs trusurround. Basically this function automatically adjusts volume levels for satelites and whatnot. But because cable boxes automatically have this feature you could just turn off the srs trusurround. Hopefully that should help you.

I have a 27 in. RCA LCD flat screen television

Sorry to inform you, but the cost of repairing that screen can hover around 90% of the cost of a new TV :-(

The screen happens to be the most expensive part

Sound

Hey merrybell;

So, you have a flat panel with no sound?

Well, with out Brand or Model let me start here:
1. Unplug 'flat panel',cable box or sat. box from the power source, a/c cord from wall, for at least 4-5 minutes, plug back into wall.
2. Make sure volume level on TV and boxes are turned up, some cable boxes have volume controls.
3. Ensure that speakers are turned on, some 'flat panel's' have options of turning speakers off. Check menu....audio/sound.
4. Double check all cables from 'flat panel' to "boxes", make sure they are secure.
5. Try different inputs and devices (dvd) on 'flat panel' or cables.
6. If still no audio, one the boards may be defective.

If so make sure you call a factory authorized service dealer to service your 'flat panel.

Good Luck, Big Irish, get back if have any more info.

Volume is not working correctly...getting lower

Is your set connected to a cable box? If so then the box itself could be causing your problem. Some of the boxes have their own volume controls. Otherwise you could have a problem anywhere from the rf input to the audio amplifier section. A tuned circuit could be drifting off frequency in the tuned part of the audio circuits. You'd need to have it checked out by a technician. Stargazer
