I wanted to know if there is a way that I can repair my tv. If so is it a job that I will need special tools to fix.

You will need special tools and expert knowledge to keep from hurting yourself. The inside of a TV has very high voltage...and the capacitors can keep the voltage for days even if the unit is unplugged.
It sounds like the tube is shot. It might cost more to buy parts than to replace it.

Hi I have a Panasonic 36" TXPF10 TV. THERES different colors on the screen like a SPECTRUM, is there anyway of fixing this

Its what we call a purity problem on this 36 inch set and only two things cause it, the set (not getting too technical) uses a single part connected inside that when set is turned on powers a large coil around the picture tube--it just demagnetizes the tube---what happens is there is a single black square part there not much bigger than a cube of sugar---easy to spot as it will have three leads in a triangle shape---

What you will likely find if you can get the set apart---Its a real heavy set is follow the power cord to the board---real high chance you will find one of the three leads on that part has broken loose from the board, happens from all the heat at turn on that part gets real hot for a very short time.

You would be smart if one lead has come loose to solder all three---the part is often referred to as a thermistor--as it gets hot it cuts voltage off to the coil.

The other possible cause is only possible if set fell forward or was dropped, in that case the damage is fatal and cannot be repaired.

Let me know if questions.

Model KV35540 Series #9017817 goes to standby after 30 sec

OLD set, most likely the picture tube has aged and only hope would be if the master screen inside the set is turned up just a little it may function again. If doing that (taking back off) be careful and also look in neck of the picture tube to see if the 3 filaments are faintly lit.

Only chances are no filaments or screen set too low from old age.

Kv35v-35 picture blinks on and off every 2 to 5 sec

The model is an older set----likely the master screen is turned a little low-------located inside the set either on board at end of picture tube or at the high voltage transformer----set monitors brightness level to picture tube---a little low and picture will blink on and off---age of the set etc.

Sony Trinitron XBR 36 in (TV control on Top Middle of set) (set-up / tv/video / vol / channel / power) when set is powered on the standby/stereo light Continuous blinks red once a second, no pausing -...

after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to CRT TUBE - TV TUBE ) becomes weak - then 1 of the indication is exactly as you have described .....after few seconds picture comes slowly & immediately (after few seconds). it gets off only red light blinks............ .......so solution is EHT ( also called as flyback transformer ) should be replaced....... {{ few details about EHT---- its size will be around 3inch X 2inch X 2inch ---it will have 2 or 3 knobs to adjust focus , brightness ------ at bottom around 10 pins will be there ------- from EHT 1 thick red colour cable goes to CRT TUBE --------- on EHT its part number will be there }} -------- so if user is a technical person having idea about components ( resistors, transistors, diodes, etc ) , having tools like multimeter ( to check components) , soldering iron, soldering lead, flux, desoldering wig ( for removing components), etc also little experience in servicing field( compulsory) ----------------- then user can remove EHT from main board ---- take to electronic shop ----- buy same type EHT --------- fix to mainboard ( knobs on EHT should be adjusted according to picture --- after switching TV --- this adjustment is very important ) ----------iam from bangalore ..since it is very risky job i suggest to contact TV service engineer ------- because they are highly experienced & can fix this component very easily. ------------ [[ sometimes along with EHT another component called transistor ( big in size - situated close to EHT - it will have 3pins - its size will be 1inch X 1/2 inch X 1/2 cm --approximately ---- black in colour ----- fixed to aluminium metal ) --- will also gets deffective --- so this component also should be checked ]] ---- in your case this transistor is good ... because when this component gets deffective then TV won't get '' ON '' .............so in your case only EHT should be replaced.........100% it works normally .....GUARANTEE....... vishnuswamy_4.jpg

Sony Trinitron TV now taking around 5 minutes for picture to appear (sound comes on instantly) Is it worth repair or should I cut losses and replace set?

How old is the TV?
Sony Trinitron sounds like it may be from the 1980's?
Some TV engineers can use a piece of equipment to do a "tube boost" but this is sometimes risky and can completely ruin the tube, but it's a risk you would have to take.
If the TV is over 15 years old, and has been used regularly, (like 4 hours every day or more) it seems likely that the tube has reached the end of life.
TV cathode ray tubes are like light bulbs...they do not last forever!

Set will often have problems starting back up

you have a high voltage arching problem. the crt has about 33000. (thirty three thousand) volts on it. the anode lead is arching to the chassis(ground) around the crt(picture tube). the anode lead is the big red wire on the very top of back of crt. with the back off, you will see the big red wire and it will have a suction cup about 4 inches round connecting to picture tube. unplug. silicone around suction cup. let dry for 24 hours. enjoy. you might get a little shocked even when unplugged, but wont hurt you.

Without seeing the actual set, I can only suggest some of the common things that can cause this. Based upon your description, I would first look for a poor solder connection where the AC cable connects to the board. Look in that area for any charred spots. Let me know if there are any. The bussing usually is arcing of the AC power.

My RCA F38310 doesn't seem to want to turn on all the way.

Sometimes mine will sort of go into a "loop" powering off/on similar to what you describe. Physically unplugging the set for a few minutes, plugging back in solves my issue.

Sony KV 20S40 20" tv flutters, reduces in size and then shuts off

The set most probably has cracked solder joints in one of the deflection circuits, which is pretty common. The picture tube and major components are fine. A good tech can quickly resolder the main board and that should not cost too much. If your set came into my shop I would charge about $50 but ask around, the shops in your area will vary.
