Question about D-Link 802.11g Wireless Router WBR-1310 (WBR1310)

Dlink WBR 2310 cannot connec to internet

My internet connection itself works fine because I can connect directly to my modem.

Last night, I was trying to figure out my wireless password so a friend with her laptop could connect. I couldn't figure it out so I reset the router and now it will not connect at all! The router lights that indicate transmission are continuously blinking (I have a dlink wbr 2310)

I am pretty sure that one of the issues is that my internet ip address and the one set on my router are different. I have tried going into the settings for my router address and changing the ip to the one set for my internet, but it does not work.

Is my router bad? How do I know?
Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

Try to bypass the router and connect to your modem. Make sure you have Internet connection.
>If you have Internet connection. connect back your modem to the router.
>access the configuration page of your router.
>If you are given a specific IP by your Internet Service Provider, use that one.
>Login to your Dlink (type in on the address bar 192.168.0.1)
>Click Setup and Internet > Click on Manual Configure
>My Internet connection would be Static IP
>Type in your IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary and Alternate DNS
>Click on Save Setting on top.

but if your Internet Service Provider did not provide you those informations
> Under My Internet connection Type choose DYNAMIC IP
>Click on Clone Your PC MAC address
>Click on Save Settings
>If it ask you to reboot, click on Reboot.

>At the very top click on Status
>Under Status look for WAN
>Under WAN look for IP address
>If you have values beside from zero it means you have Internet connection otherwise, call your dlink manufacturer for manual configuring your router for Internet connection.

Try power cycling the router.
Disconnect the router from all computers. Power off the router. Power on the router. Reconnect the router to all computers. Check the Internet connectivity.

Who is you ISP? if you're using cable connection follow these steps:

1. Connect modem to WAN port of the WBR-2310
2. Connect computer to port 1 of the WBR-2310
3. Open web browser (IE, firefox,chrome,safari), and type in 192.168.0.1 into your address bar
4.Into the log-in page username:admin password: (none)
5.click on "SETUP"
6. Click on "MANUAL CONFIGURE"
7..in the Internet connection type, make sure that it must be in DYNAMIC IP DHCP
8. Click on CLONE YOUR PC's MAC ADDRESS button(notice that mac address will change after you click on that button)
9. Click on SAVE settings now and it will count down click on Continue after that
10. Then Try to ACCESS Internet

/... but if still you cannot access Internet try to power cycle the modem and the router.. follow these steps also

1. turn off bothe modem and router (just unplug the power cord)
2. after 1 minute, TURN ON first the modem,
3. after 1 minute again, TURN ON the router
4. after 1 minute try to access Internet

But if still no Internet connection, please look for the brand of your modem if it is speedstream 5100 or hugesnet or actiontec modem because those modem have the same IP address with your DLINK router and you need to change the IP address of your DLink then....

Wbr-2310 dlink router wired connection issue


connect your computer to the router by an ethernet cable. Open Internet explorer or FIREFOX. Type the roiuter's default IP-address (if not known: its either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.0 or 192.168.1.0... keep trying until you're answered and asked for the password to enter the router (either attached on the router, in the manual or try: user: admin password: admin or password: password. Whgen you're in you'll find many checkboxes you could fill oput or notr; Easyway: give your net a name (SSID), then choose the network access security (set it to wpa-psk), choose a password and enable DHCP (then the router does the rest). Disconnect, look if the computer sjhows reception of your netwoirk by displaying its name. then connect. You will be asked for the password you chose. Done.

D-link WBR-2310 wont set up. A long time ago when we first bought this router, we had it set up and working fine. We kept getting disconnections every now and then so we bought a new Belkin router, which...


The issue I see is that the lights all are lighting up. I'd bet it is caused by some type of short or like a power outage or surge (remember surge protectors basically do nothing at all). If I were to guess, that's it. Other than that, I would flash the firmware back to original if it lets me.

Can you get a pc to connect to the internet? If you can, what IP address does HUGHES assign? If it is in the range of 192.168.0.X then change the DEFAULT GATEWAY address of the router to something like 192.168.10.1 (out of the box it should be set to 192.168.0.1)

Disable the IPV6 and use the IPV4 then try accessing the configuration page of the router and configure the Internet Settings

D-link WBR-2310 Stop working


Sounds like a defective modem/modem failure if, it does not reset or if you take all of the other wires out and just leave the power in and none of the other lights go off then that is definitely a defective mode, I suggest either returning the modem to where you purchased it from or calling D link it should be covered under there warranty for replacement.

When you connected your PC directly to the modem, were you able to get the internet working automatically or did you have to run a dialup-like connection?

If it worked automatically, try this:
1. Connect a PC to a numbered port of the Dlink router (don't connect the modem to the router nor the PC)
2. Open Internet Explorer and enter http://192.168.0.1 on the address bar. This should then ask you to login. (restart the router and the PC if nothing happened then try again)
3. Enter admin for the username and blank for the password
4. Once you're on the Dlink Setup page, click on Network Settings on the left panel.
5. Change the Router IP address to 192.168.2.1 then hit Save Settings
6. Now, connect a cable from the Speedstream modem to the WAN port of the Dlink router then check if your internet is working from the wired PC.

If its still not working, turn off the modem and the router and then power the modem first (wait for the lights to be stable) then plug the router.

D-LINK WBR-2310 SET-UP


Sounds like you need to 'copy' the mac address of the computer it was orginally hooked to before and put it into the router. Some routers have an option to do this in the settings menu of the router with one click.

Intermittent connectivity


Check to see if you are losing the DSL or Internet light on the modem when you lose your onnection. If so, then check with your IP provider, that may be the problem.
