Leaking water out of front vent when opened

The vent on the front of my Miele, Novo Stella, Turbo Thermic Plus, Model G 881 SCI, is filling up with water. It fills up with water when you run it and when you go to empty the dishes, it spills water all over the floor. The vent is not closing inside the front door when it is ran so still fills up with water. Can the front vent be replaced? Has anyone tried replacing the front vent or is there a way to repair it?

Hi Crytech's advice is goog but you may not need to replace the fan. To remove the top plastic front it is useful to loosen the top screws on the side as this allows the metal plate that holds the switches etc to move a little allowing the plastic front to slide off. The metal plate is held by the side screws and one under the latch, the others secure the switches and control gear. It may be worth opening the inside vent by turning it anticlockwise, it is only this that holds the fan unit if the plate is removed. In practice if you look here http://www.brandsurge.com/PDF/General%20Dishwasher%20cleaning%20and%20care.pdf you will see the cycle with the fan is more complicated than at first it would appear. I found it best to remove all of the front door cover and remove the fan unit and clean it thoroughly. There is a rubber pipe from the bottom of the unit to a control switch half way down the door. This was completely blocked. A thorough cleaning of all the components and ensuring free movement of the shutter in all three of its positions (open, half open and closed) followed by reassembly cured the problem, no cost just one cut finger from the edge of the door :) When removing screws it is advisable to save them in a way to remember their positions as some are longer than others and I had to guess where they went back. No smoke, no blown fuses just clean dishes. Good luck Shrubstick

Hi jpkenney, The vent can be replaced. If you open the door and look around the outside of the door, you will see the stainless screws that hold the top & bottom parts of the door on.( the top control section is separate to the rest of the door). Just undo the screws & there you have it. The vent can be replaced easily. Hope this helps.....goodluck.

New Miele g6927 sci XML installed today. Error message "open stopcock". This is open and is filling with water. However machine not progressing to wash. Is there a way to reset

the program will not progress to wash until the set water level is reached
at that point the water in is stopped and the wash cycle begins
If that is not happening get in the service technicians for a warranty fix

My Miele g880 turbo thermic intake drain light is on and won't fully drain water in dishwasher

Check your non-return valve located under the triple filter in the bottom of the dishwasher for clogs, instructions are in you operating manual. Be careful, sometimes there could be broken glass in there. If you don't find anything, give Miele tech support a call, 800.999.1360. They can walk you through checking it and if needed set up a service call for you. Hope that helps.

Miele premier novo, the main wash light flashing

Hi
Main wash is a fault indicator. The is a problem within the heater circuit, NTC, element, relay or loose wire. You will have to open front and check.
Remove 3 screw around dispenser and 3 10mm bolt around door. disconnect hose by drain pump and front of machine will open like a door.

Miele Dishwasher G 2630 SCi fails to fill.

Debris is jammed in the valve for water ejection. It's jammed slightly open. This happened to me and it was a very small piece of plastic from the lip of a tupperware bowl.

Miele leak when switched on for wash, from filter unit front LHS bottom of machince

The leaks in a washing machine could be coming from many different places in the washer.

The first place you need to check is behind the washer, check the two fill hoses and the water mixing valve.

The next thing to do is to remove the front panel, set the washer on the regular cycle and turn it on to start filling.

Use a drop light and check all the hoses under the washer as the washer is filling. Make sure to keep your hands away from any moving parts.

If the hoses are ok, check the pump for leaks. When the bearings in the pump wear out, that is when the pump will get noisy and that could cause your Maytag top load washing machine water leaks.

Another place that the washer could leak water from, is the stem & seal on the holding tank. When washer leaks water from the stem & seal, the water leaks down the center of the transmission.

When the stem & seal need to be replace, the tub bearing has to be replace at the same time. This is an expensive repair if you have to pay someone to do it. If you do it yourself it will cost you about $110
