This machine was working fine. Then it would not start. Plugged into another room, same thing If I unplug, and leave it unplugged for a few seconds and plug it back int, the green light flicks on, then stays off. Sometimes when I plug it back in the fan states for a fraction of a second, an goes off as well. HELP! Also, my battery is bad, how di I reoplace that? It is aHP desktop. Thanks
As a pro computer repair tech I would think or look at two places the first is the power supply which it probally is if it's under warranty contact the manufacter if not there very easy to replace and you can buy one at newegg.com or many other online places or ebay but buy new.the power supply doesn't have to be a emachine or HP just the same wattage or higher;unplug the powerthen just open the case you'll see the powersupply box unplug all the cables that attach to the box if you have a digital camera take a couple of good(easy to see) pics first so you can look back when replaeing the cables,or with the new power supply set it next to the old one and as you remove a cable replace the cable with one from the new one at a time then after replacing all the cables undo the 3-4 screws holding the power supply from the back of the case remove the old one and replace with the new one.the other thing I would check is the swicth on the front behind the front cover mostly doesn't break but it has happened.
