Question about Toshiba SD-4700 DVD Player

Toshiba SD480E HDMI DVD Player will not play flash drive content

Toshiba SD480E HDMI DVD Player has a USB port to allow you to play stuff on a flash drive. This worked to begin with, most of the time, but now I get the message "not allowed at this time" when I insert and try to load.

No reset button I'm afraid. It's actually the SD580 [got it wrong] and is very simple - just an HDMI socket and a Scart socket on the back, and a Play, a Stop, and an HDMI Select button on the front, plus the USB port...I have tried unplugging the HD cable and just using the Scart, to see if that helped but no dice.
I have just got a new TV, but the first time I tried playing something off a flash player with this TV it worked fine, so I don't think it's that.

Toshiba dvd recorder will not record from webcam it is hooked into the ubs line

Do you mean USB? According to the manual for your DVD recorder, the USB port is only for the playback of MP3 (audio) or JPEG (photo) files. So you can't record video from your camera through the USB port.

Wharfedale DVD1100 PLayer does not detect USB Hard drive

It's unlikely that you're doing something wrong. Did you buy this DVD player as one that is supposed to support connecting hard drives? If not, then the player probably doesn't support connecting a hard drive.

it could be an HDMI port for connecting HDMI cable. If your DVD player has HDMI output then you can connect it.

or it could be a usb port for playing videos from usb devices like pen drives and portable hard disks

How to hook up DVD player to 19' led HDTV

The modern way is to buy a HDMI Cable
Plug it in to the HDMI Port on back of DVD Player
Plug the other end into spare HDMI Port on LED TV.
Put in a DVD & hit Play
Use remote control to select HDMI port on LED TV
If it does not have a HDMI port then you need a converter box which picks up the Red & White (sound) & Yellow (viideo) and converts to HDMI standard.

No,a HDMI cable alone will do the job.Just plug the HDMI cable one side connected to the HDMI port hub belong to the tv HDMI hub,the other side of the HDMI cable connected to the HDMI port hub belong to the Blu ray dvd player HDMI port hub. That should play ur Blu ray dvd player.U still have questions, read ur owner manual.

Will not play movie - continually displays "Copyrighted Movie HDMI HDCP frail with TV "

There are several reasons for this but exactly knowing which is one isn't possible without first knowing what products you are using such as your connector, player and television.
HDCP is the acronym for high definition content protection. It is a digital signature embedded into the disc software designed to prevent copying of the disc. On certain occasions due to the hardware such as the HDMI port on the television, or the connection type, the signal will not be allowed to pass through. The HDMI port on the television may not be HDCP compliant for example. In this case if possible you can try a different HDMI input on the TV if available or use the component video input instead.

Playing DIVX on an LG LH-RH3690 DVD recorder

You can not view from the USB, since the USB port on the DVD player is ver 1.1. The transfer speed is to slow to watch a movie. Alternatively you can copy your movie from your flashdrive to the harddrive and watch from there. You will see what I mean with slow speed when you copy the movie. It takes ages.

Converting up to 1080

Hello. You have to use the HDMI port and connect to the HDMI, or DVI, port on the back of the TV to get 1080. Even if playing HDDVD, this cable is necessary to get the increase. That, and the TV has to be in 1080 too. If you look at the display, on the front of the player, while watching the DVD, it will tell you at what resolution the DVD is playing. The HDMI to HDMI/DVI must be installed to get the increase in resolution. I have a Panasonic HD 34" 1080i widescreen TV, with DVI connection. When connected, the player played my DVD's at 1080i on my TV, while at only 480i thru the composite cables.

On some older movies or series(I like Star Trek- TNG), it doesn't work well due to the transfer to the DVD. Most newer DVD's, such as Batman Begins (there is an HD out, but I have DVD only), improved on the upconvert for me nicely.
