Install wireless card wireless network interface controller

The wireless Adapter Card should have come with instructions....
If not, then it is fairly simple if you have the 'driver' CD.
1. Load the driver CD and follow the Instructions to load the drivers.
2. Shut-down the PC.
3. With the Power to the PC OFF, UN-plug the Power-cord to the PC.
4. Insert the Wireless Card into an expansion slot on the motherboard that fits the type of Card you have....DO NOT attempt to 'force' it into a different-slot.
5. Close it up and Plugg it in and power it on.

Note: SOME wireless cards require that the Card be installed BEFORE the drivers.

for more specific details, the make/model of the wireless card is needed.

Navigate to the Acer Support web page (see Below) and click on the "Downloads" link. http://support.acer.com/ Input the model number of your laptop, click on the "Search" button, download the wireless driver file for your laptop model and save the file to your desktop. Open the "Start" menu, click on "Control Panel" and open "Device Manager." Open the "Network Adapters" menu, double-click on your wireless card, select the "Drivers" tab, click on the "Update Drivers" button and choose the desktop as the location to search for new drivers. Click "Next" to reinstall the driver, fixing your wireless woes.

Can't get my wireless laptop to work. How do I connect the router to the computer?

First what type of router do you have? What is the model number?
Second ensure that your wireless switch (if your laptop has one) is set to on.
Go into view network connections and ensure your wireless card is enabled.
From you Desktop ensure that you are connected as described in the previous post.
Depending on your router make and model type in the ip address to the router.
Default for linksys is usually 192.168.1.1
DLink is usually192.168.0.1

From here it depends on your specific router.
There should be a wireless setup wizard.

I installed linksys wireless notebook adapter driver on my laptop it sayes wsastartup not installed

If the laptop is XP please do this:
Go to Control Panel>add/remove programs. Look for the Linksys Wireless Notebook adapter, select it, click remove. Keep the notebook adapter connected to your laptop.
Insert the driver disc, do not run the set up.
Restart the laptop, drivers should be loaded automatically.
If drivers were not loaded, go to DEVICE MANAGER, click on NETWORK ADAPTERS, select the Linksys, right click the Linksys, click update drivers.
Start the wizard, select Install from a list of specific location.

You can do this if you have the setup disc or the downloaded drivers on your laptop.

If you are still having this problem you can call Linksys tech support 1800-3267114.
