Canon PC-D320 prints only left half o document with closed cover

Canon PC-D320 prints only right half o document with closed cover. But if I copy with cover opened - it prints right side normally and left side very dark. So I changed exposure to minimum and it copy pretty good but it's not normal I guess!

I think I have some problem with exposure properties in copier, maybe i could reset them to default or smth. switching off/on doesnt really help. And also it's not a fault of cartridge..I tryend to change it. Also it's not a problem of scanner i guess cause I've just cleared all of scanner parts  a day ago.

Please help :-(

Take a look at the document guide. The document guide is a sticker on the document glass showing where to line up the paper prior to copying. This is most likely out of place. The under side of this guide has a white reference area that sets exposure. If either the front or the back is pushed under the cover, then incorrect exposure occurs and a blank or extra light half of the page is the result. The glue for this sticker is not the best.

I had the same problem but it was caused by the scanner that was not running flash under the copier glass,if I remember correctly there are spacers on the scanner that keep the scanner to run exactly the same distance from the glass of both sides of the scanner.
On the other machine,I found a faulty scanner cable that cause a similar problem.

I am scanning a photo. I have translucent lines running horizontal through the picture before i print it.

Documents scanned/copied from the document feeder pass over a thin glass area where scanning occurs. Clean this area if sent faxes, copies or scans have black or white vertical lines.
  1. Lift the document cover to expose the platen glass.

  2. Wipe the ADF scan area (C) with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water.

  3. Then wipe with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth making sure there are no residues left, especially on the platen glass.

  4. Close the document cover and make a copy of a text document to confirm the black line has disappeared.

Exposure problem

If internally generated prints are good, but copied documents are bad then your scanner needs cleaning. This can be found in the document feeder section where the light scans across the paper. If both copied and internally generated prints are bad, then chance are, your toner/drum catridge has run out.

Canon Image Class D320 does not copy entire page. New toner has been installed.

Has anyone changed the paper size in the paper tray to another size by accident? Have you tried the manual feed tray? If that copies the whole image then the problem is with the paper size input of the paper tray.

While the D320 has a scanner, it is used only for making copies. You can connect the D320 to a computer and use it as a printer, but there is no provision for scanning documents to a computer.
