No volume icon

Hi

You don't give any details or specifications of either your computer or its Audio/Sound Card/Chip. Please feel free to add a Comment or Clarification to this Question. Please include information about the type, model and specification of your computer and Audio/Sound Card/Chip. Doing so helps us makes faster, more accurate and more assured Remote Diagnostics leading to better quality and more useful Advice, Answers, Guidelines , How-Tos and Solutions.

If by "volume", you mean Audio, then this sounds like an Audio/Sound Driver fault or corruption.

When Audio/Sound Drivers are either not installed or the Audio/Sound Card/Chip is Disabled or Uninstalled in Device Manager, the Windows Volume and Mixer Controls can become Disabled until the Drivers are installed or repaired

Reinstall the Windows XP Audio/Sound Driver for the brand, type and model number of your computer from its Driver and Utilities CD. If you have no CD, download the Drivers and Utilities from the Support & Downloads Page of the computer manufacturer's website.

Since I do not know the details of your computer. I cannot, as I would otherwise have done, provide you with a link to the specific Download Page.

I hope this helps.

Sound driver not avalebel

Sound drivers are required to make the sound card in your computer work, thus allowing your computer to output sound. You must have the correct sound drivers software that corresponds with your computer, model of sound card and operating system in order to get sound. Sometimes when your computer has had an update, you may need to download your drivers again. Sound drivers are available on the Internet to download and install for free. 1. Find the model of your sound card and identify what operating system you are using, as well as the model or serial number of your computer.
To find your sound card model, go to the Start menu, open the Control Panel, locate and open the Device Manager. Near the bottom is an option called "Sound, video and game controllers." Double click to open the sub-menu. There you will find the type of sound card you have.
To find your operating system, right click on My Computer on your desktop. Click "Properties." The name of the operating system should be listed at the top.
To find your computer model, it will vary from PC to PC. For laptops, check underneath for a label. For desktops, check on the top or left side of the tower.
2. Open an Internet browser and navigate to the website of either the manufacturer of your sound card or the brand of your computer. Most computer brand websites, if not all, supply drivers you can download from their support and downloads section. For example, if you have a Gateway computer, go to www.gateway.com. Find "Support," then "Drivers & Downloads." Fill out the required fields to search for the driver.
3. Look for the driver that corresponds with your sound card model, computer model and operating system. Click the link to begin the download. When it asks if you want to save the file, click to save to the desktop. After the download is finished, double-click the file and follow the on-screen instructions to install your sound driver.
I hope you find it very helpful.

Please rate me. Thanks.

Hello, no sound on motherboard Asus P4P800; probably no good driver for AC97 on this motherboard. Can you give me a good hint. The best would be *.iso file of Asus CD for this motherboard. Thank you....

I would strongly recommend you to re-install the sound driver. If you don't have or if you don't know the correct driver, you can download it from HERE. The selected drivers are for windows xp, you may need to reselect the Operating System (O.S) from the O.S: box on the page. If the installed O.S on your computer is Windows xp, click the "Audio" link and download from the download links (will be displayed once you click the "Audio"). Download and install, it should work if there's no other issue with your sound card or etc..

Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.

No sound card installed

if it says that no sound card is installed yo need the driver for the sound card ..If you have the drivers cd that came with the computer ..just look on it for the sound card ..and run it ...restart and that's all...if you do not have such a cd ..and you need the driver ..you have to let me know the exact make and model of the computer ..and the operation system you use..
In case it is a built computer and it has a separate sound card ...I need to know the model of the sound card ..or...if it is not a brand one like I said ...and the sound card is on the mother board...and you do not have the mother board drivers cd ...(on it will be the driver you need) I can find the driver if you let me know the model of the motherboard ..

I cant here any audio sound on my computer

There are a few simple things to check first:
• Make sure your computer has a sound card.
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌ getopencontent.aspx?assetid=18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers category. If a sound card is listed, you have one installed. If no sound card is listed, You will need to install one. See Install or remove a sound card.
NoteIf you think you have a sound card installed but you don’t see it under the Sound, video and game controllers category, expand the Other devices category and check any devices listed there. 3. If there is a yellow question mark next to the name of the sound card, there might be a problem. Right-click the name of the sound card, and then click Properties.
4. Click the General tab, and then look in the Device status box to identify problems with the sound card.

Please help me

Basically, it means that there's a problem with whatever Output Device you've selected in: Winamp > Prefs > Plugins > Output > out_ds > config

Either change it to match your Sound card device driver
or (re)install latest sound card drivers (and maybe also DirectX).
You can also run (Start/Run( dxdiag.
Look under "Sound to see what the problem is.
This often means you need to reinstall or update your sound drivers.

Sound of computer

Hi rovimae, its very easy to find and download most of the drivers from the internet these days. If you know the manufacturer of your sound card and the sound card model please try to search for drivers on the manufacturer's website first. Otherwise you always can go to google.com or yahoo.com and type in the model number and it may link you with the sites to download your drivers. Also make sure that you download the correct version of your drivers. Most of the drivers got different versions to support different operating systems.
Hope this helps.

I assume many media will be interested in your support of child abuse. To wit: http://wp.me/pYTnA-5XM To you, children are fair game. You have no facility to deal with it. So be it. Here is a sample of what you support. WORDPRESS and LAUDA FINEM This website platform supports people who abuse children. They are the Boko Haram of the internet. I'll show you why. It hosts a site called Lauda Finem (http://laudafinem.com/2014/05/26/accforum-the-wislang-clan-v-counterspin-the-karam-defamation-tort/) which fancies itself, usually wrongly, as a righter of wrongs that they, in their peculiar view of the world, need to be righted. In the process, it allows the use of pictures of innocent children to attack their parents and families. I shall explain. First, I have already made a complaint to Lauda Finem's host, Wordpress, on several occasions about this grotesquely repulsive behaviour. Wordpress, as is its wont, has ignored them, pleading the American 1st Amendment about "free speech". Too profitable not to, really. Lauda Finem, according to its own lights, "reveals" horrendous doings by many people - from the prime minister of New Zealand, the New Zealand police commissioner, the New Zealand spy agency, most of the New Zealand judiciary, and sundry business people. Some of which is good fun and probably deserved. (Some of them are hilarious.) Then it takes issue with private citizens it doesn't like. To make whatever points Lauda Finem thinks it should make, it spies on innocent families. That activity includes taking pictures of the supposed culprits and displaying them on its website. It has now stooped to also displaying pictures of their children in the context of their parents' supposed "crimes". Wordpress allows this to happen. So, where's the proof that Wordpress allows, indeed encourages, the abuse of innocent children by Lauda Finem? Well, here. Here is a picture of a perfectly innocent family that Lauda Finem has decided to weave into its tawdry tales of corruption, deceit and depravity. Taken at a science art museum, presumably by the "undercover agents" it claims to employ in Victoria and Western Australia. (Reference available, if necessary.) The next generation of Wislangs, Graeme Wislangs grandchildren and daughter in-law Bridget Wislang to be precise. Apparently computer science is a real passion, as are the family's hobbies, playing doctor Mengele, cyberstalking, terrorism and dishonesty. I am Graeme Wislang and would no doubt be perceived to have a vested interest. But my battles with Lauda Finem have nothing to do with these children or their mother, nor even their father. None of whom have any involvement in one of the websites (AccForum.org) that Lauda Finem is trying to close down. But to proceed. Here is another. Three more young girls who may be eternally ravaged by their exposure to Lauda Finem's inexhaustible desire to punish their parents (inset). But we cannot stop there. Lauda Finem didn't. (In case you have forgotten, here's the link again: - http://laudafinem.com/2014/05/26/accforum-the-wislang-clan-v-counterspin-the-karam-defamation-tort/). There are more kids who have been drawn into the Lauda Finem net in order to wreak vengeance on their parents. Sins of the father and the mother, I assume. And an innocent lamb for good measure. Which simply illustrates how far Lauda Finem will go to make its sadistic points. This poor kid (below) did not even know Lauda Finem was "onto" him. But, in the eyes of Lauda Finem, he was a hideous sinner. The people in these pictures are innocent children that Lauda Finem and Wordpress have decided to abuse on the internet in order to try to punish their parents for things Lauda Finem doesn't like. This is egregious behaviour of the worst sort that may scar these children for life. It must be stopped and the perpetrators brought to account. But then you are American. I wonder if the Washington Post and NYTimes will be so forgiving?
