Question about Dell Pocket DJ MP3 Player

Re-Building Library My MP3 locked up - I tried to reset it and now it begins the "rebuilding playlists" but then it hangs up and then freezes. I cannot turn it off or anything. When I reset it again, it happens again. The only thing I can do is let the battery completely run-down and then try again. But even that causes the "hangup" in the rebuilding process. Suggestions?

I have an NWZ-E436F, when I try to start it it stops at the creating library page and shuts back down, already been reset and is fully charged, any thoughts?

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings. Then If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player, such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right side of the desktop tray.

  1. Gently push the end of a thin object (such as a pin or straightened paperclip) into the Reset hole.
The reset button for your player is located at the bottom of the player, to the left of the sync adapter port.

  2. Refer to the article below to access the recovery mode and perform a Clean Up.

SID 64088: Accessing the Recovery/Rescue Mode of your Player

    1. Clean Up scans a player\'s hard disk/memory card and removes any invalid links from the music library. It does not affect the working music files at all. It is recommended that you perform "Clean Up" first before formatting or reloading the player\'s firmware.

    2. It is advisable for you to clean up your player regularly if you are frequently transferring files from you computer to your player or vice versa.

Creative Zen Freezes on Rebuilding

My Zen locked when I turned it on. It wouldn't play the track the screen was on so I pressed the reset button and turned it on again. It was then still locked on the same track so I tried turning it off which then froze as it was shutting down. After another reset it went through the rebuild screen then locked again. I then used the above fix (pin in reset, then hold play and power switch down). Taking me into the kind of bios screen I formatted the contents. Then added my library again. It's now working fine.
This is the second Zen I've had because the first one had the same problem so I took it back without trying to fix it. Both times the problem occured when I had my Zen plugged into my car stereo auxiliary jack whilst switching the ignition on in my car. I can't understand why this would cause the problem but I'll avoid doing that in future.

When I plug my first generation ipod nano into my new LG E500 laptop the ipod freezes and will not charge. I have to reset my ipod to get it working again. Does anyone know why??

You may need the latest version of itunes for your laptop to recognise it. Download it here (its free), it will have the latest drivers for your ipod too.

Once it is loaded, plug your ipod back into the comuputer and reset it yourself from the ipod settings. Create a playlist/library of music by adding music to itunes, then sync your ipod with your library/playlist.

I hope this helps

Creative V Plus MP3 problem

reset it with paperclip. the hole is on it's left side, down from "on " trigger. then if you have probs with "re-building library", reset it, hold play button and turn it on. there will be recovery mode, try clean-up, if it doesn't help, just format it.
and read other solutions before you post yours)

Frozen iriver x20

If your player freezes on "Building Library" (usually a result of putting certain type of .m3u playlists or too big images in id3 tag):

1. Turn the player off - you may need to take the battery out to do this.
2. Hold the menu button in.
3. Still holding the menu button in, press the power button.
4. Keep holding both buttons in until you get a dialogue asking if you want to format internal memory ... say yes.
5. Your internal memory will be formatted and you will now be able to start your X20.

Try to figure out what file is causing X20 to freeze - i've found that pretty much any .m3u file will make it freeze on building library ... only about 2-3 out of about 100 i've tried have worked.
