I have checked the mp4 including installation on two other pcs however my pc sometimes does not recognise and sometimes the mp4 appears on my computer page as a removeable disc but after a few moments it disconnects automatically. Can you help please?

Turn the player off and while plugging in the usb cable hold down the power button until the computer says "new hardware found" and "drivers have been installed for your new device" "Your device is now ready to use" Now release the power button.

If this don't work, post back with player name and model

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Since the device works in 2 other computers, then the issue is with the USB device drivers of your PC. In Device Manager, verify that the USB is installed with no yellow marks. Additionally, you could uninstall all the USB Root Hubs and Universal Serial Bus Controllers. On reboot, the OS would auto-re-install the necessary drivers. Alternately, you can update the drivers of the USB from your motherboard manufacturer rather than a windrows update.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

A connection is possibly loose, seems like a hardware problem that would require service. Check the usb connector and its pins.

You have tried it on two other pcs? what was the result there did it work? If it worked on both fine, then the issue is on your computer and not on the mp4 most likely.

Please clarify.

How do i transfer video from laptop to mp4

Hi there.

To transfer the video from your laptop to your mp4, make sure that the video is a file that can be read by your mp4 player. In that case, it should be already an mp4 format.

Check if you need any software to be installed in your laptop for it to recognize the player when connected. Usually, a software installer is included in the package. Just download it.

Once installed, connect your player using the supplied cable to the laptop and start the transfer.

Hope this helps.
Let me know if you need any questions.

Thank you!

My problem is my sharper image mp4 player isn't download videos

If it's not downloading videos, first you need to check the requirements. If you're trying to download a video from the computer to your MP4, you have to make sure that the device has enough space to accept the video.

Example: the video size is 700MB, but you only have 600MB remaining storage on your MP4, then the device could never afford a file size that is larger that the free storage.

Check the supported file format of the device. Refer to the user manual of your device to see what are the supported video file formats. Let's say the device could support .avi file, but you are trying to download .3gp or other file format, the device would not accept it.

Kindly refer to the user manual or contact the manufacturer for more details about your device.

Thank you!

What video format does gigawear accept??

Hi thizzinpeace,
Mpeg4 is the safest option, I guess all mp3 players accept it. Others that might be acccepted include .aac. But I'd still advise you to encode your videos in .mp4, just to be safe.

I can't put my videos on my SONY NWZ-zs618f

This player is pretty specific about the bitrates/formats of MP4's it will accept: It will accept MP4 SP and MP4 AVC Only two bit rate options: 384 kbps vid/128 kbps aud.; or 768 kbps vid./128 kbps aud. There cannot be any kind of copy protection on the MP4's The Media Manager doesn't actually convert the video files - you will have to use an outside converter such as Arcsoft Media Converter or Riva FLV Encoder - make sure you get a program that will allow you to specify exact bit rates.

there is no current soloution, there is a virus on the net that completly wipes all information off mp4's including the driver files, repair files and mp4 player files.
the only temporary way to fix it is to either find another mp4 and copy the sofware off that and install the divices from the copied folder, or somehow download the files off the net.
