Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook

1 Answer

Unable to run some things. I think I need flash player.

I have some things I am unable to open and view, I believe it is because I do not have flash player. When I try to download FP, I am told it won't work for 64 bit, which I have. (new Dell 1545 laptop with Vista) FP says it must be run on a 32 bit system. Can I get this to work for this computer?
Thanks

Adobe Flash Player. Also make sure you don't have a filter setting in your wireless router stopping you from streaming WMM.

I am unable to open downloaded videos and movies

Dear bhaskaran aravindakshan

You may be using a media player application which doesn't support downloaded file's extension. Try to search for media player application which support downloaded videos. You may also try "K-light codec pack".

Hi,
Make sure that your vga or graphics driver are properly installed and not corrupted. And you can also try downloading another video player like VLC player. Try this link: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I am unable to view videos etc even though I have downloaded adobe it say that I have jave turned off and I cannot correct it

I am assuming you are referring to Adobe Flash Player?

And this is about online videos?

Try using a different browser, IE or FireFox.
In any case you can enable Java in the IE options if that helps.

Hello sir

I understand that your notebook is unable to play online videos in a web browser in full screen mode.

Videos on YouTube are streamed through an Adobe Flash player. For the best viewing experience, we suggest you install the latest version of Adobe Flash after removing any old versions you've installed.
Please completely uninstall Flash before reinstalling the latest version.
To uninstall Flash, please follow Adobe's instructions, listed here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157
Once you're done, restart your computer and follow Adobe's instructions for reinstalling Flash: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
If the instructions above don't resolve the issue please try the following:
  1. Temporarily disable popup blocking software installed on your computer to test.
  2. Allow YouTube.com as a trusted site in your Firewall software.
  3. Ensure other applications like Quicktime, iTunes, Real Player, or Windows Media Player aren't set as the default streaming application, as this might affect the video player.

Windows Vista users: If the flash uninstall reinstall does not work this maybe due to a Microsoft Windows Vista permissions issue.
Please use the Windows button at the bottom left then the search function:
  1. Go to: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
  2. Right-click on the following file: FlashUtil9b.exe or FlashUtil9e.exe
  3. Select "Run as Administrator" and install the update.
  4. Restart your computer.

Adobe flash player

try to uninstall the adobe flash player installed on your computer and try to clean your computer using tuneup utilities or such. what you have to do is get rid of anything that is related to adobe on your system first. then restart your computer and later...re-install adobe flash player. this might be due to a malfunctioned program driver issue on your computer.
