Question about Fine Digital FineDrive 400 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

No Power? I think the block where you plug in the car adaptor is lose or broken. The unit keeps turning off then back on whenever it gets moved. Anyone know of a repair manual so I can take it apart and fix it or of a place to send it to get fixed?

My Acer Aspire 4750G-2312G50nbb does not turn on, Whenever I insert the charger adaptor to the power jack, the charger adaptor led light turns off.

One of two issues will cause that.1/ The socket is damaged and presenting a short circuit to the charger or 2/ The protection diode has blocked an incorrect voltage/polarity and provided protection by going short circuit.

SOLUTION: After a year and half of keeping this broken dock around and researching online to no avail, I have finally "fixed" my Memorex iListen iPod dock.
*Quick answer is that I used an old ac adaptor from a modem I no longer used but for more details, read below.
The first issue was figuring out what to search for. My iListen doesn't clearly note it's name on the unit. All I could find on it was "Memorex" so for the purpose of those Googling for a solution, I used generic search terms like "Memorex white ipod dock" plus "won't power on," "fix," "repair," and "broken." I hope including those keywords in this solution's text helps people arrive at this page as a result.
To clarify the symptoms my unit presented: 1) The power supply's green light was lit but did appear to blink, or rather it was constantly lit but would fade slightly from bright to medium before repeating in approximately two second intervals. 2) The unit would not seem to turn on; however, pressing the power button with an ipod plugged in would result in the unit momentarily turning on. It varied in length but usually only "flashed" on.
Given these circumstances, my guess was that a "blown fuse" was the cause. Since I saw no way to open up the power block or the main dock unit (not quite sure what I was gonna do once in there except look for a fuse), I decided to rummage thru some old power adapters I had lying around in an old shoe box. I found one from an old modem that matched the symbols on the original "broken" adapter. (as i found later, the symbol represents a positive polarity, more info here: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:AC_adaptor_polarity.png)
Once I plugged in the modem adaptor to the dock, it powered right up.
I know this was a long, LONG way around sharing a singular solution, but seeing how long it took to finally discover it (albeit an incredibly simple one), I wanted to make sure others found it and knew what circumstances specifically applied to my case.

Unit keeps losing power. Cord has power light and

I had the same problem. It was the pin inside the **** clamp that was broken. As I wiggled the plug in the unit the pin would dislodge. eventually the pin got lodged in the 12v power cord.

Dsl modem 2 wire is losing power

ANOTHER COMMON ISSUE: If your modem keeps restarting once the power LED turns solid green, the most likely cause is the power adaptor. Replace the power adaptor and all should be well again.

Melting power adaptor

Is the power adaptor made for the country you are living in? It's possible the plug you are plugging it into has a higher current than the plug was certified for. Have you tried plugging the laptop in in another location (like, in a different building)? You may just need to replace the adaptor, how old is it?

Remote use ofr power off/on

The On/Off switch on a One More Time CD remote unit doesn't actually turn the jukebox on and off. Strange but true! You're not missing anything, honestly. I think the button was/is related to switching on an external background music through the jukebox but only if you have the correct adaptor in the box already.

The problem can be overcome by buying a remote controlled mains adaptor plug. You plug the juke into the adaptor and the adaptor into the wall. You can then turn it on and off using a small remote button supplied with it.

Compaq Presario 1200 won't charge battery

dear N9YK

you can follow this

If you have a loose connection where you plug in the power on your laptop, or it works intermittently, you could have a bad dc jack. Symptoms
  • Move the power plug and the laptop loses connection
  • Broken or cracked dc jack
  • Laptop won't charge but worked on battery
  • Power LED and battery LED flicker when the adapter tip is moved
  • Battery won't charge
  • Sparks come out the back of the laptop
Why does this happen?
  • Flaw in manufacturer designs
  • Use of universal or non-original ac adapter
  • Lots of plugging and unplugging of the ac adapter
  • Tripping on or pulling the ac adapter cord
or you can check your dc amper in your adaptor

oke

thx
