The piece of plastic where your palm would rest on the mouse is the compartment for the batteries. Locate the piece of plastic with the GE logo on it. You need to slide that piece of plastic away from the direction of the mouse buttons. You will then be able to put the batteries inside and slip the piece of plastic back on.

GE wireless optical mini mouse - how do you change the batteries?

I don't own this mouse in particular, but of the two wireless mice I do own, the batteries are replaced by taking the door off the bottom of the mouse and getting at the batteries that way.

Normal 0 The GE mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, Try this.
Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.

Press the link button on the receiver the indicator light should start blinking. Then within two seconds press the link button on the bottom of the mouse, the indicator light should quit blinking. After re-linking the devices move the mouse to see if it moves the cursor. If the cursor does not move, then move the mouse and see if the indicator light on the receiver blinks.
