I just bought an fm transmitter for a road trip i am taking in an

Ok so i got the Griffin Roadtrip with Smartscan like 2 hours ago. I let it find the 3 best stations, and then i selected the station i wanted. I then turned on my radio and put it to that station where there was no noise, very light static but no sound besides that.

but then i would turn the transmitter off and the station would become a bit clear again.

maybe its because im in la and there is too much radio frequency, but i got on the 405 to for a mile to test it out if i could start to hear it and i couldnt.

maybe i should find a extremely staticy station and then tune it to that one and hopefully i will pick up sound? idk helppp!

Hi. Try a "soft reset." With the RoadTrip and your iPod both on and connected to each other, hold down the Menu button and the center select button for 5-10 seconds until you see an apple on the iPod. Then you can let go and wait for the iPod to restart. Once it's restarted, try playing music and choose a static-only station like you did before. This resets communication between the 2 devices and should fix the problem. Good luck!

My 2004 griffin roadtrip won't come on

There's a fuse inside the connector that goes to your car, unscrew the tip of it (where the metal makes connection with your aux outlet in the vehicle) and replace it. Sometimes the spring gets pushed down over time as well, you may want to pull it out and stretch it a tad.

Play ipod through alpine cde-7858

Most simple way is use an FM-transmitter

I use a Griffin i-trip smartscan, it is VERY good.

Ebay £30 - 40 for the good ones but even the cheaper ones work well.

**** sucks

You can cut the wires at the car plug and put a 12 volt 8X lithium battery there there are three wires one is + and one is - and one most probably the antenna wire Then just plug in anything analog to play over a radio and it works kinda ok but never as well as a direct connection to amplified speakers. When your car player skips there no cheaper thing than one of these used thingys.

How do i use a griffin itrip?

you'll have to tune your radio to a certain station. 89.5 might be it. do a seek on your car radio while your iPod is playing to verify the correct frequency.

Hi My griffin roadtrip will not charge my 4th generation Ipod nano. It says charging is not compatible with this unit. any ideas please

Apple have changed the charging pin on iphone and ipod touch 2nd gen. sounds like maybe you have the one for one of those device instead of your Nano. You will need to get a new roadtrip that supports it, as there is no adaptor to convert to your device

My griffin roadtrip has reset its FM frequency range

This is what a Griffin technician advised me, and it worked! (Just choose US or EU mode, depending on your location.)
Sounds like your RoadTrip has inadvertently been reset to Asian tuning mode. To get it back to EU mode, follow these steps.

1. Press the function button.
2. Press and hold the Mode button until US, EU, and JP appear at the bottom of the screen.
3. Press the button that corresponds to the EU indicator on your screen.
4. Wait a few seconds for the regular tuning screen to return.
