I subscribe to basic cable, the TV has been working fine for a year, however now some channels have no sound at all, picture is fine but no sound. Wondering if the problem is with the TV or cable...

hi, if most of your channels have audio on it and some dont have, there is no problem with your tv, it is your cable company that has problem. The best thing is to give them a call so that they could do somethin about it. Hope this helps, goodluck!

No picture only audio

The problem is not with your television at all because you are able to see images on it. If there were a problem with your television you would not be able to see the guide for cable or the menu. Try turning off your cable box and unplugging your cable box for 30 full seconds to reboot it. If this does not work call the cable company customer service representatives for support.

I spent the last hour on the phone with tech support for my local cable company. after the duration, we came to the conclusion that there was in fact, not a space for the red, yellow and white chords....

Without seeing anything, the yellow=video, the red and white=audio. The yellow/video "output" of the cable box goes to the yellow/video "input" of the TV. The red and white are the audio that go from audio "output" of the cable box to the audio "input"of the TV. I don't know what the Cable company was telling you???? The cables are "RCA" and give you the worst clarity for a picture. If you cable box has three output ports colored Red, Green, and Blue ("Component') and you TV has the same three as inputs, that will make your picture much better. If you can hook it up with the component jacks, you will still need the audio RCA (red and white) between the two units. I hope this helps.

Digital cable audio connection issues?

Digital is much more sensitive to "noise" and cuts out if signal is not strong. Contact your cable company to have them check the signal level you are receiving.

I wanna hook my laptop to my tv. used a vga cable and get picture but no sound

You also need an audio cable to go along with the VGA cable. You will need a 3.5mm audio jack cable. Plug one side into the headphone jack of your laptop, the other side into the 3.5mm audio jack that is right beside the VGA connector.

PICTURE IN PICTURE

If the set has two tuners, you can put two cable feeds on it. You simply use a splitter on the cable feed to have two feeds from the same cable feed.

If you are using a decoder, you will need a separate decoder for each video/audio input to the TV set. The exception would be a dual tuner decoder with independent outputs.
