Fan making noise

There are 2 possibilities: First, your fan, air inlet and air outlet are dirty/dusty. In this case you can use canned air to clean them up. If the dust become a dust ball, then you may have to open the laptop's base or just need a tweezer to lift the dust ball. The second possibility is the fan is dying (broken). In this case, you need to replace the fan, and it is not easy (you need to disassemble your laptop) to replace the fan.

One of the speakers sound really bad when volume is raised. Also the area of touch pad and the jack where you connect the head phone gets hot.

About the speakers, you need to replace them with factory OEM speakers.

The touchpad and the headphone outlet will get hot if the laptop is hot inside. You might want to check the fan for dust and clean it. So the heatfan extracts the heat from inside. Avoid using your laptop on a surface without airflow, such as mattresses or pillows.

HP Pavilion DV6500 - The fan makes too much noise!

If at all possible " do not try and clean the fan yourself " you will kill the m/board - take it to an auth Hp serice agent and get a new CPU heatsink assy & fan unit fitted. I work on Hp units all the time and I am always very carefull of the electrostatic conditions. Try and do it yourself and it will prove expensive. If you have warranty log a service call for a replacement heatsink

It is quite possible that you need to replace the cooling fan. You can get used parts for this machine on Ebay pretty cheap now. I have seen the fan assy go for about $8-20.00. They are a bit of a job to replace. Just take your time.

4. While holding the locks gently push the locks away form the memory (sideways)
5. The memory will popout and you may now remove and replace it with a higher capacity.

Note: This is only done if there are no available slots for the new memory. If a slot is still available no need to remove old memory. Just insert the memory on the available slot
