    Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. Am sorrry to say that my company's firewall is not allowing me to download that software. And even i cant share the ip address as it would be a violation to teh priciples.

Can you do me a favor. If that is possible for you to download the USB 2.0 drivers? If yes, you can send the same via gtalk ... which i can access. Do let me know your gmail id so that i will add you.

    Regards

I don't know if this link will work, but if it doesn't... go to Dell's website, look for drivers, then choose your product. (it's quite easy)

http://support.ap.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/downloads/en/downloads_splash?c=au&l=en&s=gen&~mode=popup&file=176721

USB2 drivers are often bundled with the manufacturers "Chipset drivers". Try the link above. Download, install, then:

Try hitting "reinstall driver" from where you were in your screenshot, then allow it to automatically search, including Windows update.

That is the shortest, easiest way, but it might not work. There are too many variables in the equation.

If you want me to remote-control your PC and have a shot, let me know your IP address, username and password (for Windows). You can set up a temporary second account if you wish. I'm in Sydney, Australia... so a time where i'm awake would be good!

I don't use gtalk... but why are you not going to your IT department with this question?

I would imagine you could also call Dell support in India or Malaysia if the PC is under a business contract?

Otherwise, getting the files to you and getting it all installed is going to be long and tedious.

Hi,

As you have described that you need a driver for your Dell DJ, you may download either Dell DJ (Gen 2), v.1.01.01, A01 or Dell DJ (Gen 2), v.1.00.03, A00. Both versions are compatible with Windows 2000 and XP. Click on download and follow the procedures. Keep in mind that versions of softwares and drivers are limited from manufacturer's releases.

I hope this works for you. Kindly reply for further assistance. Good Luck!

Operation of computer while connected to F380 .

Hai

I understand that your Isue is "After installing the HP All-in-One software, the computer stops responding during start up when the All-in-One is connected and turned on. The computer will start correctly if the All-in-One is not connected or is turned off."

SOLUTION:

This problem can be resolved by changing the "USB Emulation" in the Computer BIOS settings.
If you are using a DELL Computer just follow my instruction below.

Caution:
If you are using a USB keyboard, do not disable “USB Emulation”, “USB Keyboard Support”, or “USB Legacy Support”. If the settings must be disabled, use a PS/2 keyboard

Changing the BIOS on a Dell Dimension computer
Follow the steps below to turn off the ability to boot from USB devices but still support a USB keyboard while starting. Contact Dell for assistance if necessary.
  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Unplug all USB devices other than a keyboard.
  3. Start the computer. When the Dell logo displays, press the F2 key to enter the System Setup (BIOS) program. If the Windows screen displays, wait for the computer to finish starting up, shut it down, and then try again.
  4. Press the Down Arrow key to highlight Integrated Devices (Legacy Select Options).
  5. Press the Enter key.
  6. Press the Down Arrow key to highlight USB Emulation .
  7. Press the Space Bar until the “ No BOOT ” option displays.
  8. Press the Esc key twice to go to the Exit menu.
  9. Plug the USB devices back in.
  10. Ensure that “ Save Changes and Exit ” is highlighted, and press the Enter key. Contact Dell for assistance if the problem still exists
Changing the BIOS on a Dell Laptop PC.
Follow the steps below to turn off the ability to boot from USB devices but still support a USB keyboard while starting. Contact Dell for assistance if necessary.
  1. Shut down the portable.
  2. Unplug all USB devices including USB keyboards.
  3. Start the laptop. When the Dell logo displays, press the F2 key to enter the System Setup (BIOS) program. If the Windows screen displays, wait for the computer to finish starting up, shut it down, and then try again.
  4. Press and hold the ALT key while tapping the P key until a screen displays that includes the words “ USB Emulation ”.
  5. Press the Down Arrow key to highlight “USB Emulation”.
  6. Press the Right Arrow key until the “Disabled” option displays.
  7. Press the Esc key once to go to the Exit menu.
  8. Plug the USB devices back in.
  9. Ensure that “Save Changes and Exit” is highlighted, and press the Enter key. Contact Dell for assistance if the problem still exists
Change the BIOS on computers from manufacturers other than Dell If you do not have a Dell computer, contact the computer manufacturer for assistance. If the manufacturer does not know how to disable starting from USB devices, they may be able to change the order (boot order) of the disks the BIOS uses to start the computer. Move the bootable USB devices selection lower on the list than the computer hard disk drive. If you have any further queries or if the problem still persists, reply me.
