Try this it will work:
click on start>run>type cmd in the box
this will bring you to the DOS prompt; type cd:\
this will bring you to c:\
then type in fdisk
so it should look like c:\fdisk
This is the fix disk command it will format your hard drive.
hit enter and if it ask choose d for delete that will reformat your drive
