My LG wf_t7050tp top loader washing machine drum not turning during wash/rinse cycle

The drum is controlled by a breaking system at the bottom of it. It is the agitator in the center that does most of the work during wash and rinse. The drum would spin very fast during spin cycle.

Check if the solenoid for brake control is working. Check that the drive belt is not sagged. It should be tensioned correctly.

Loud noise during rinse cycle

Hi

If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary. Also check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.

Turn the drum by hand and listen for loud noises. If the drum itself is split or the 'spider' is corroded, broken or has come apart from the back of the drum it will create a loud noise on every turn of the drum. (When the bearings have gone bad, the noise is constant the entire time the drum is spinning.)

Look for obvious dents and creases in the drum or look for coins or small objects stuck inside the tub underneath the drum when a horrendous noise is made while clothes are in the tub.

Clear the water pump from obstructions like coins or small objects when a noise occurs while the washing machine is emptying water.

Remove the sump hose and look for bra wires if you hear a light scraping noise when the drum is turned by hand. You can also check to make sure a wire isn't poking out of one of the holes in the drum. In this case, you can pull the wire out easily with pliers.

Take the belt off and run the motor alone if you hear a high pitched squealing noise to check for motor bearing damage or wear. If you still hear the noise without the belt, it's the motor bearing.

My maytag model no.mav4755aww makes a whinning sound at the beginning of the spin cycle

Hi
Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.Since you hear whining it means that the bearing is damaged and the seals on bearing are gone too so it rotates without lubricant. It might be possible to hear whining while you rotate empty drum manually...

Machine makes awful noise during any movement, spins very slowly, not enough to spin out. Making an awful noise, like stripped gears and won't drain

There are three reasons for such awful noise during spinning. Either the drum or the bearing turning the drum. Check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.

"howling" noise during spin cycle (still there after changing burned off belt)

Travioso, there was two service flashes out on this model concerning the seal and bearing which means they had an issue with this washer. The howling noise you are hearing is the bearing and will need the new designed triple seal and bearing kit. This should be covered under your warranty, I believe it is 5 years. The numbers for the service flashes are TDL-0048A-B. Call Maytag and inquire about these service flashes, these should be covered. Catriver.
