Hi, welcome to FixYa.
Typically, the "machine size" setting must be programmed into the new control when it is first powered up. Fisher Paykel includes a tech sheet with the replacement control that explains how to do this. On most machines, with the power off, you hold the water temp UP button down with one finger, then press the power button. This activates the mode for setting the machine size. You then select the machine size and lock it in when you shut the power back off. Now the machine is ready to use. On some models, the digital readout screen displays these settings and it is very easy to do. I hope this is useful info to you and thanks for using FixYa.

Code 43 for a fisher and paykel Iw810

In the back right corner is a out of balance switch which is either activated and stuck activated or is faulty. This is the most likely cause, have a look , lift the lid to check it out.

If you can handle a screwdriver - open the lid lift upwards to disengage, remove screws in top rear, lift control cover, remove fixing screw on bottom controller, find the switch fitted to the top of the base, give it a clean and reassy.. turn off the power supply first however.

There is no reset for these.
If you are getting error code 48,49,50
your motor controller board is faulty.

My Fisher and Paykel IW810AU has stopped mid wash full of water and just beeps constantly and flashes message I need Service Fault 105. Have turned it on and off at the wall with no change. Please help.

Hi, the faults 105 is reported when the Display Module detects an error in the communications between the Display Module and the Motor Control Module.

The primary source of the problem is the Pump and you have to measure resistance of pump. If resistance is less than 33 ohms, replace pump.

When I turn the machine on it says I need service error 105

Hi just read your posting. Now error code 105 is called COMMS. ERROR TIME-OUT.This means the display module has detected an error in the communications between the display module and the motor controller. There are 3 reasons why this error code appears, the 1st is a faulty display module, the 2nd is a faulty motor controller and the 3rd is a faulty rotor sensor. The way this fault is tracked down is to 1st change the display module and if that does not rectify the fault then change the motor controller and if the fault is still present then change the rotor sensor.Sorry for the bad news on this fault and unfortunately you need the components to find the fault.I have double checked to see if there is a way to check the components easily and I have not been able to find one. Please reply on how you would like to proceed and I can help you as much as I can.

Hi Joe.Unfortunately if your drain pump shorted out and when you replaced it with a new one, it keeps draining, then the fault now is your MOTOR CONTROLLER.It became faulty when your pump shorted out. This happens sometimes with the Fisher and Paykel washers.Hope this helps and if you need further assistance then please reply and I can help you replace the CONTROLLER if you decide to change it.Just a note before you go and purchase a new controller ring your local FISHER and PAYKEL dealer and ask them if they can test your CONTROLLER for you,Just to be sure.I know my diagnosis of your fault is correct but I think we must cover all our bases.Looking forward to your reply.

hi, reading your posting it tells me that the machine will fill on traditional wash but on auto fill mode it pumps the water out at the same time it is filling. i"m pretty sure it is your diverter . on auto fill mode it fills a little bit then the pump comes on and recirculates your water by pumping the water from the bottom of the bowl to the top of the bowl over the clothes. on auto fill mode it also activates the diverter to pump the water back to the bowl. on your machine the diverter is stuck in the drain out position so when it trys to recirculate the water it drains out the water instead . the problem could be a faulty diverter, control module or a broken wire.hope this helps, please reply if you need more help. good luck.
