Question about Akai LCT3701AD 37 in. LCD Television
The tv wil not turn on it will just flash the red light where the power indicator is located. When it was working, the power indicator would turn green. The screen and no sound
I just purchased a referbished Akia LCT37Z4AD. I plugged it in and it worked great but it still needed moved into place, on the entertainment center. Well it done the exact same thing while moving it. I simply Moved it around and it turned back on. I believe this is happening because of a hazard mechanizme that trips when moved or shacken. Something like an electric heater does when knocked over. Not 100% sure and I just started researching it so I will write back when I know the exact problem.

I read a thread that was left from a previous question concerning the same problem. The online support is great and the folks at Fixya are a great source. I was able to type the name of the broken tv in a search engine and Fixya came up.

I would bet on the power supply....these (and other Akai LCD) are notorious for filter capacitors. Look for electrolytic capacitors with a dome-like bulge on the top of them. They are usually located at the top of the power supply board where the power output lines run out.
Hpe this helps you out....
