I have an hp scanjet 3570c but it doesn't work in mavericks what can i do?

Wow, those are some amazingly unhelpful posts.

The ScanJet 3570c is obsolete, you aren't going to find a driver from HP for Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, or likely anything after Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.

That said, there is a third party solution, VueScan. Your scanner is supported, you can find more info here: http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/hp_scanjet_3670c.html

Canon mf 4018

Hello - Canon does not provide a Mac driver that supports scanning, BUT if you have:

An Intel Mac

and
OS 10.5 (Leopard) or later (including snow leopard, lion, mountain lion and even mavericks)
there IS a fix: Just download the free Vuescan software for Mac, then use it to scan with the MF4018.

Go to: http://www.hamrick.com
Download Vuescan for Mac OS X

Install it, and start the application. It will recognize any scanners attached.
NOTE: If Vuescan asks you to identify your printer, you will not see the MF4018 listed. Choose the MF4010 instead - the 4010 and the 4018 use the same drivers.

Lide 60 not working in mountain lion

Guide to installing Canon CanoScan LiDE 35, 50 and 60 on Mac OS X 10.8. Mountain Lion:

FIRST PART: DELETING OLD LiDE DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE

  • If this is the first attempt to install the scanner, skip this part

  • Trash the following files/folders from these folders:

HD:/Library/Image Capture/Twain Data Sources

delete the CanoScan CanoScan XXXX.ds file

(Make note of any other files that may be in this folder. If other files are present, move them to the desktop for now. Then place them back after successfully using the scanner.)

HD:/Library/Preferences

delete the 'CanoScan XXXX' folder

HD:/Users/Shared

delete the folders containing the name CanoScan, or starting with CNQL.

HD:/Applications

delete the CanoScan Toolbox Application

HD:/Users/YOUR-MAC-USERNAME/Library/Preferences

delete any items named "CanoScan Toolbox"

  • Restart your computer, then empty the trash

SECOND PART: MAKING YOUR SCANNER WORK

  • Make sure your scanner is well connected

  • Download the right driver depending on your Model. Also download the Scanner Software. Copy the filenames and search them via Google. Make sure you download the Canon files from an official Canon domain.

CanoScan LiDE 50 and LiDE 35 work both with the 35 driver:

lide35osx7721en.dmg

CanoScan LiDE 60 driver:

lide60osx11131en.dmg

VueScan Software:

http://www.hamrick.com/#download

VueScan 9.2 (or later) x32 for Mac OS X

Alternative to VueScan: CanoScan Toolbox. I prefer VueScan.

Try your luck with Version 4 or Version 5.

CanoScan Toolbox 4: cstbosx4934ej4.dmg

CanoScan Toolbox 5: cstbosx5014ej4.dmg

  • Open the downloaded driver file (lide35osx7721en.dmg or lide60osx11131en.dmg)

  • and Double-click the ScanGear file, install and restart when prompted

  • Open the downloaded VueScan file (vuex3292.dmg) and drag the VueScan application to the Mac Applications folder

  • Open the VueScan application. The scanner should be recognized automatically.

(Alternatively try and install CanoScan Toolbox 4 or 5)

Is there a driver for an Astra 3400 running Mac OS 10.6?

According to the UMAX website this is supported for the mac but unfortunately only system 9 on a powerPC (see http://www.umax.com/support/knowledge/specifications.jsp?model=Astra+3400). You could try vuescan which is available at http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/umax_astra_3400.html you can download it for free to trial it but if you want to purchase it it will cost you about $40. Given that the scanner is fairly old I would suggest if you are going to spend $40 buying vuescan you would probably be best speding $60 to buy something that will give you a few more years of useful working life. Hope this helps.

I have the CanoScan Lide 20/Lide 30 and love it, however I have a new Mac Book Pro and the CD-rom will not work with my mac and help would be great. HELP Thanks, Randy

Hi Canon don't provide up-to-date drivers for this scanner any more so you will have to buy a copy of Hamrick Software's Vuescan
http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/vuescan.htm#canon
It works with almost every scanner in the world (seriously) but you have to buy it. I have no connection but have lots of cliens using it.

I dont have the disc for the mustek flat bed scanner ,i would like to download it to my mac how?

Hi Eddie I think you may be out of luck. A quick scan of the Mustek website shows that their Mac drivers have not been updated for the 1200 series since 1999.
Your best bet is to download a trail copy of Vuescan from Hamrick Software at http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/vuescan.htm#mustek
You'll see a list of the scanners it supports and there are several musteks with 1200 in the title.
If it works (and it generally does) then you will have to buy it as the trial puts a watermark on to the scan (and there's no way you can photshop it out). I have no connection with Hamrick but have lots of clients using it on a variety of scanners.

I have not used my PrimeFilm 1800i for quite a while and find that I probably need a driver on this computer. I used to use it but I am not sure which of my computers it ran on. What can I do to make...

You need to install a CyberView X scanner driver to use this scanner on Windows and Mac OS X.
On Mac OS X, you need to run VueScan with Rosetta, since CyberView X is a PowerPC program. To do this:
  1. Click on the VueScan icon while holding the Control key
  2. Choose 'Get Info'
  3. Check 'Open using Rosetta'

I cannot use my AGFA SNAPSCAN 1236 with Snow Leopard

I had the same problem. Upgraded from G5 PowerPC Tiger OS to iMac Snow Leopard. Have a Snapscan 1236U (ScanWise) and got the same error message ("cannot find the current ColorSync System Profile"). Downloaded trial version of VueScan (www.hamrick.com) , scanner worked, so purchased the VueScan Professional Edition ($79.99) (Standard Version is $39.99). My scanner is now working GREAT!
