Trust me when I say this: DON'T. There are far better (and many of them free) alternatives out there than Defender Pro. If your machine is already infected, then the problem will get worse. Alternatives: AVG Free Edition, Avast Home Edition, just to name two. Make sure that youve removed the old antivirus program first before installing a new one. Good luck.

"Spyware" is a term used to describe software that advertises, collects personal information or changes the configuration of your computer.

Rogue anti-spyware programs are classified as "spyware."
These programs change your Internet settings and redirect your Internet searches to malicious websites.

For example, when you search for "Google," a rogue anti-spyware program might instead take you to a website selling rogue software.

Examples of rogue anti-spyware programs include Vista Defender Pro, XP Antispyware 2011 and System Restore.

Fortunately, these programs can be removed so that you can access sites like Google again.

Click "Start," then "All Programs," and then "Windows Defender" to open Windows Defender.

Click the down arrow next to the Help button. Select "Check for Updates." Windows Defender will install available updates. This may take several minutes.

Click the down arrow next to Scan and select "Full Scan" from the drop-down menu.
Windows Defender will scan your entire computer and automatically remove any spyware that it detects.

Responding very slowly. I recently installed Defender Pro.

This is because Defender Pro is a malware - a scareware to be more precise = a program that scares you with false claims of infections on your pc so you buy it while itself is a trojan (a virus that gives control the total control over your pc over to other criminals).
Since by now the damage is extensive and almost impossible to overcome the best solution for you is to reinstall Windows and this time install immediately a good antivirus like Avast.

DEFENDER PRO 5 IN 1 WILL NOT UNINSTALL. I HAVE CONTACTED THIS TWO BIT COMPANY WITHOUT SUCCESS AND I NEED A LINK OR SOMETHING TO REMOVE THIS INFERIOR PRODUCT FROM MY COMPUTER. I HAVE NOW INSTALLED WEB ROOT...

Here is the link for their uninstaller:

You'll want to be sure to run ccleaner to get the last bits and pieces off the computer, as leftovers will conflict with any new software. you can get ccleaner from download.com. Also check for remants of their folder under C:\Program Files\ and delete it manually.

p.s. incidently, when antivirus programs have trouble installing it usually means you are infected already and that is blocking the install. You might want to install Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware also from download.com, update the virus definitions and run a full scan of all your internal drives, just to be sure you don't have anything lurking around.

Have I resolved your problem? If so, please rate this. ty.

Cannot uninstall Defender Pro antivirus program from my Dell

A lot of programs do not get listed in the Install/Uninstall applet in control panel. For these programs you can usually go through the start menu to the program in questions and usually there is a shortcut/icon in there for Uninstall.

Installing part of the defender pro 2008 and got to the pc repair. it would only install part of it and would not go any further. it got to the c files and the part where it was something about shared and...

I did a quick search for 'defender pro 2008' and saw tons upon tons of complaints of it causing many problems. I would uninstall the software and use something else. A program with so many bugs will probably do more damage if you install and run it.

For anti-virus I would suggest AVG Free, as it is free and works better then those big name brands with their bloated software.
Your windows firewall should be good enough for the basic PC user.
To remove spyware/malware check out another free program called SpyBot Search & Destroy.

To remove Defender, go to your Windows Control panel and click on Add/Remove programs.
