My son went to turn off the TV and got quite a shock. As a result the TV flicks on and off. They must have been produced with a design flaw since so many people are having the same problem. We should get together a class action suit against Best Buy, since they refuse to do anything about fixing not only my, both other buyer's problems.

I have experienced the same issues, I called Insignia about this particular problem, I explained that this TV shocked me and now won't work, there explanation is that because I was out of warranty there is not much they can do, never mind that they had a particular model that a recall with the same issues as there 26 inch model, when the TV shocks u, it's usually your main board gone bad,
All I can do now is complain on these boards and inform other consumers of how bad of a product this is and to stay away from this brand due to the fact have poor designs on these models.
I will continue to ***** and complain, on Facebook and other post until maybe someone listens and decides not to buy a piece of **bleep** like this, what a joke, will start a class action law suit, remember the more u complain, they will eventually have to listen to you just like they did with their 26 inch models they will do it for other models so hold on to your sets this one's due for a recall.
They also said that they can't find any threads on their insignia boards, just type shocked and u will find threads, and if u want to do a Google search type insignia and your model number and see how many threads u will find about their faulty boards, I'll be back to add these post with links of how much of a piece of **bleep** this TV really is..

You can find parts for your TV here. If the power supply is an internal component, it is strongly recommended that it be installed by a TV repair professional.

Got shocked by the tv as i touched it and wont turn on ever since...

you should call them and explain the shock from the tv that you got and if there is a recall on these models as well as the 26" that has power issues and can cause a fire or if you can get an extended warranty or what can they do for you to resolve this issue with your tv that they seem to be having with their other tv's also ( health hazzards! )
their main number is : 877-467-4289
or e-mail them here :

Insignia tv shock power on/off on its own Same problem here (NS-LCD 37") - two nights ago my husband went to turn it on, got shocked, now the green power light on the front of the tv just flashes on and...

And thus the wailing an gnashing of teeth. LCD TV's have really come down in price... Typically $500-$1000 for anything but ultra-high end. So something goes wrong with them.... what do you do? Typical repair cost is $250-$400 in parts, and that does not include technician house call, or labor to repair. Let's say you're the adventurous type and are pretty dang sure the problem is the PSU (power supply unit). So you order up one of those, it takes 6 weeks to get here from China. Costs you $300. You put it in and it doesn't work!!!

There you go.

So, anyways... Unplug the thing from the mains for about an hour and plug it back in. If it is still in an error condition, buy a new TV.

How to remove the back from Insignia NS-32LCD?

I unscrewed all the screws in the back, detached the tv from the base, and was able to get the back off. I ordered a new power supply board and will install it to see if it fixes the problem with the tv (won't turn on, insignia light alternates between red and blue). I didn't notice any problems with "swollen" capacitors, so if the new power board fixes the problem I'll update this website.

It works!! I replaced the caps--about a buck each. The bad caps were swollen, and soldering in new caps wasn't hard to do. THANKS!!!
