Small black tube found loose under top cover, blows air uncontrol

I have found a small black tube that is coming up towards the pressure valve and shut off switch. I can't figure out where the tube is supposed to plug into the auto pressure switch. The air compressor just keeps running now and won't cycle off.

It should be a compression fitting on the bottom of the pressure switch. The tube is what supplies the air for the pressure switch. Disconnect the power before working on the unit.

If you remove the cover, you should be able to get access to it easier.

If you need more help, post a comment.

Thanks,

Tim

Large volume of air coming out of vent

If the are coming out the vent is located at the pressure switch you have a stuck or bad tank check valve. Take the small copper line off at the pressure switch. If it blows air. replace the check valve. The check valve is located in top of the receiver tank. The copper tube removed goes back to one side of the check valve. Just remove the small tube from the check valve. Make sure there is no air pressure on the tank. remove the copper tube frome the compressor head and from the top of the check valve. Using the proper size socket, wrench, etc. remove the check valve. Inspect. If it has some type foreign material in it clean. If you fell that will correct the problem install in reverse order. I usually replace them if I have gone to the trouble of removing. Good luck!

I need a diagram of the A/C low pressure port on my 1996 chevy blazer. I know it is aways on the larger diameter tubing but it seems the port seems tube seems to be coming right off the side of large...

Find a shiny aluminum canister under the hood thats bigger than a soda can and follow the tubing that comes out of it back towards the front, you will come to a valve similiar to an air valve stem on a tire. The valve has a black plastic screw off cap. That is the low pressure port. The high pressure port is located behind or near the a/c compressor

Cleaning 2004 Ford Freestar EGR Valve

The EGR valve is on top of the engine towards the driver's side. The assembly looks like a small canister with the top half crimped on, it has a large tube coming up from the exhaust, 1 electrical connector and red/black vacuum lines as well.

My CEL was on and I was getting horrible gas mileage. First I disconnected the battery. On top of the EGR valve there is a small plastic cover. After carefully removing this (mine was brittle) you can remove the sofe grey foam air filter. Mine was very dirty, I cleaned it with alcohol, let it dry and put it back on. I also removed all the electrical and vacuum lines and sprayed them with mass air flow sensor cleaner.

After getting it all together and reconnecting the battery the check engine light is off. Today I will drive it and see if the gas mileage has improved.

Shooting oil out of dipstick

Your engine breather system is blocked....this means that the only way that the compression caused on ignition that is getting past the piston rings and into the block can escape is via the dipstick tube.
Check breather for kinks and some have filters ensure that these are not blocked

Where does the small black tube go thats around pressure switch

SOUNDS LIKE ITS THE UNLOADER LINE. IT SHOULD ATTACH TO THE SIDE OF THE PRESSURE SWITCH SO THAT WHEN IT CUTS OFF THE ELECTRIC SWITCH TRIPS A VALVE TO UNLOAD THE AIR FROM THE LINE.

Champion vr3-8 auto drain blowing out when compressor turns off

IS YOUR TUBING CLOGGED, PINCHED OFF OR MAYBE DIRT-DOBBER NEST IN IT. THE WATER AND AIR IS SUPPOSED TO COME OUT THE SMALL TUBE POINTING DOWNWARDS BUT SOME EXCESS AIR MAY COME OUT THE SILVER VALVE ON TOP. THIS IS THE EXCESS AIR WHEN IT IS UNLOADING AND THE SILVER VALVE IS BASICALLY A TIMER. YOU CAN ADJUST THE DURATION OF THE BLOW DOWN TIME BY LOOSENING THE THIN JAM NUT AND SCREWING IT IN OR OUT. DO NOT BLOCK THE SMALL TUBING OR PINCH IT SHUT, YOUR COMPRESSOR CANT UNLOAD AND WILL START HARD. DONT REPLACE THE WHOLE DRAIN BECAUSE THIS AUTO DRAIN TAKES A REBUILD KIT THAT COSTS AROUND 20.00 TO 25.00 AND IS VERY SIMPLE TO REBIULD. Compressor will not turn off

Most single stage compressors come with a pressure switch set to shut off at 125 - 145 psi. These switches become less efficient over time and will Begin to fail but remain useful. A safety valve (brass plut with pull ring) is installed somewhere on your compressor set to open at aprox. 160psi. If the pressure switch shuts off before the safety valve activates you could probably continue to use the unit. If however you would like to have the unit shut off at 125psi replace the switch any switch that can be installed in the space allowed. The black tubing that you see is the unloader. When the unit reaches set pressure and shuts off, the small valve under the pressure switch will open and release the pressure in the tubing. This allowes the compressor to start with no back-pressure. For max. life of compressor make sure that there are no leaks in system and upplug when not in use.
Pressure switches are sold in pressure ranges from 45psi to 160psi. Some brands are better constructed than others. A squareD switch will give long life being used w/o extension cord. Good Luck

Leaking from my MaytagPAV2300AWW

Had this problem. In my case the leak was comming from the fill indicator tube. It is a small tube running from the side of the tub to the control panel. Air pressure built up in this tube activates a pressure sensor that will shut off the fill valve at different levels depending on the pressure. The tube had become dry and cracked at the joint where it met the tub. I didn't discover the source of the problem unitl the hose actually tore loose and the thing overflowed. Remove this tube and inspect it and I bet you will find a small crack or tear.
