Question about Kenmore 24 in. 16259 / 16254 / 16252 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Nothing is happening

The CLEANING light blinks, but nothing happens. I loaded it Sunday, set it for 2 hour delay, and didn't even notice that nothing has happened. I have cancelled the print, opened, closed, even reset the breaker - what's up?

I hit the delay button for 2 hours yesterday on my kenmore elite front loading washing machine and nothing has happened and the door is locked

unplug it and wait for the machine to reset. You should hear some clicking noises. May take a while for it to reset.

I have been using a Sunbeam Model 5891 Breadmaker for over a year without trouble. Today I loaded the machine like always and selected the settings I usually set and hit go. Nothing happened. The lights...

The Sunbeam 5891 is a disposable type for there are no user-servicable parts.

Here's more:

Addressing Power-up/Start-up Issues:

1. Unplug the breadmaker.

2. Confirm the power source you're accessing is live using a blender, toaster, etc.

3. Plug the breadmaker in.

4. Confirm the breadmaker is receiving power:

    1. Some models have a built-in off/on switch. Turn it to the ON position.
    2. Some models make an audible tone when plugged in.
    3. Some models have a colored light and/or a lighted display screen that lights up.
    4. Some models require you press the Select button down until the unit powers up.
    5. Some models require you press the Start button down until the unit powers up.
    6. Some models require you press the Select button first to select a mode, then press the Start button.

3. No, you were not able to confirm that your breadmaker is receiving power? Sorry to hear that. Attempt to have the breadmaker serviced by a small appliance repair facility or simply discard it.

4. Yes, you have confirmed that your breadmaker is receiving power? Fantastic! Now reboot the breadmaker's electronics by pressing down continuously on the Start button until you notice a visible and/or audible confirmation, usually within 5 to 10 seconds. Beware: Some models require you press the Select button first to select a mode, then press and hold the Start button to reboot the system.

That should fix it. Hope this helps!

Special Note: Often the + and - Timer Delay buttons are pressed by mistake, delaying Start by up to 12 hours. If you suspect the Timer Delay feature has been engaged accidentally, you'll need to reboot the breadmaker's electronics. You can do this by pressing down on the Start button continuously until you notice a visible and/or audible confirmation, usually within 5 to 10 seconds. Beware: Some models require you press the Select button first to select a mode, then press and hold the Start button to reboot the system.

Put the key in the ignition and nothing happens (the dash all lights up windows work) but not even a click , happened once this morning and we rocked the car and it was fine has started 2-3 times since and...

Sounds like either bad battery or really dirty battery cables. Have you tried jump starting? I'd first start with cleaning battery cables top & BOTTOMS. Everyone cleans top because they're easily accessible, but the bottoms are exposed to dirt & road grime and are usually the culprit. After cleaning cables, if problem exists then replace battery. You can verify battery by having any good parts store "load test" battery.

What is the make and model so we can better assist you? In the mean time shut power off to the unit briefly, then turn it back on and try a normal cycle. Will be watching for a make and model here.

The cleaning cycle takes about an hour. Unplugging, or turning off only delays the process. Place your solution in and set the self-clean, then walk away for about an hour. If it has not completed after an hour, call the GE service numbers found on the front of your user's manual.
