Question about Maxtor Hard Drive

This is an answer that the company isn't publicizing, but having had this problem and gone through the company heirachy I personally *GUARANTEE* you that this IS the ONLY CORRECT ANSWER AND SOLUTION.
**NOTHING ELSE WILL WORK! PERIOD!**
The company admitted that "a few"(??? - OVER 1,000 hits on this problem on their own troubleshooting forum = "a few...") of the BlackArmor drives SHIPPED WITH THE WRONG LABELS/WRONG SERIAL NUMBERS ATTACHED TO THE DRIVES.
That's why you can enter their info till hell freezes and it is NEVER going to work!
***THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO RETURN THE DRIVE TO THE COMPANY FOR AN EXCHANGE***
Fortunately, they have not been pains in the rear as far as reciepts, etc.
ALL BLACK ARMOR DRIVES ARE NEW ENOUGH THAT THEY SHOULD *ALL* BE IN WARRANTY!
P.S. Don't let some tech there buffalo you by saying he never heard of any such thing! It IS ON THEIR OWN FORUM EXACTLY WHERE I POSTED IT SO NO ONE ELSE GOT A RUNAROUND.
