My HP photosmart 3210 skips lines on the black ink only. The other colors print fine.

(The obvious) Replace the black cartridge. Even if ot says you have ink you could have a faulty cartridge, even if it has worked fine in the past. (The not so obvious) Clean your printheads/nozzles. Repeat the process a few times.

Changed black ink but it still prints very very lite and only part of the document.

Hi

Try to make print nozzle for 2-3 times to clean the print head.

If not, adjust the print quality from text to photo.

Regards.

I have HP Photosmart 3210 All in one. I use nebs

Solution for 3200 series HP prints that no longer print black.
I have followed the directions on using "Non-Acetone" nail polish remover and it works.

I will add a few more details on working this solution. READ all these instructions before you attempt this.

1. The brand of nail polish remover that I used was "Cutex" but the bottle should say, right on the outside, "Non-Acetone" or "Acetone Free." This is what you need to clear the blocked ink receiving nozzle and or ink feeding tube.

2. The best syringe to use is a small "3 cc" type. I started with a "10 cc" but the diameter size of the syringe hit up against a square piece of the plastice molding on the printer. The smaller one does not.

3. Pull the ink cartridge out, locate the two ink receiving nozzles on the printer. They are small, less than 1/4 inch long. The bottom receiving nozzle on the black was plugged on my 3210 HP printer.
(The nozzle fits into the stem on the syringe.)

4. Pour some the "Non acetone" nail polish remover into the cap of the polish remover bottle. **** up 2 cc's of nail polish remover, hold up the syringe and remove any air until some nail polish remover comes out the end.

5. Get a flash light in one hand and illuminate the nozzle and the syringe in the other hand and insert the nozzle into the end of the syringe (no not try to have a needle or filler needle on the end of the syringe-it makes a mess).
a. Slowly apply pressure to the punger of the syringe. Very little will go in initially but when it does--slowly pull the plunger back. The solution will turn black.
b. Do this process 3-5 times until you can inject get about 1cc into the nozzle. Once this happens you can try to **** it back out. You will not get it all back but it helps break down the clog.

6. Once you can get 2cc's into the nozzle try the other nozzle to see if it is plugged as well. The nozzle that is plugged will offer a lot of resistance and you may have to push hard to get the initial amount in, BE CAREFUL not to push the clog way into the tube--repeat process 5b until it pushes a little easier.
a. The nozzle that is not plugged will offer very little resistance when pushing on the plunger.

7. Once you are at this point, run a "Clean print heads" and then "Align printer" from the printer menu. a. Push "set up" button on left side on menu panel. b. Push down arrow to item 2 on the display window "tools" and you will find "Clean print head" & "Align printer."
Run this a couple of times you should start to see some black ink printing on your paper (make sure there is ink in your cartridge)

8. Initially, the color will be gray. Next, go to your word processing program and make a document that has one inch wide lines on it. Run about 8-10 lines on a single piece of paper, adjust the ink flow to auto/600 dpi on the properties menu of "print" and print 10-15 pages of this to get rid of all the nail polish remover in your print tubes that lead to the print head. The color will start with grey and eventually turn black. You will know the nail polish remover is coming out because the paper will smell like finger nail polish remover.

Try this and it should work for you as well.

HP 3210 not printing black ink

Look at the posts on "black ink problem" later on this site (mostly Dec).

This appears to be a very common issue with this model and results from a serious design error.

You may need to force the blockage out of the black ink feeder system, a messy process.

Photo printing problem

Try cleaning your ink nozzles or ink jets. It sounds like you have a plugged nozzle or two. Your printer program should have maintenance options that allow you to test for plugged nozzles and clean them.
In control panel, open the printing/fax icon, right click on your printers icon, left click properties, then on the bottom of the page the panel that opens you will see a button that says printing preferences, and that should open your print program.
