Frigidaire FWX233RES4 washing machine won't work

I have Frigidaire FWX233RES4 washing machine. It was working fine but today than I put it to work it stuck. It would put a water fine but than it comes to a washing circle it just makes a humming noise and nothing happening. It seems machine is trying to spin but can't.
Any idea if I can fix it myself? Thanks for your answers.

The humming noise is problably the drain pump, which problably has something (sock or such) blocking it, by removingthe fornt panel youlll be able to acess t hdrain pump assy, to check for a blocklage,,( UNPLUG UNIT LIVE WIRES!!!)

no not aproblem it slips right on, it is however under a lot of tension.. be aware that this is normal, you will have to place it around the motor, and walk it around the larger pulley as you would wind a chain as a child on your bike.. it maight take a few tries but it will go, at first youll swear teh belt is too small though.. good luck

Sounds like there's something such as a small sock that has gotten sucked into the pump. This will keep the pump from spinning, cause extra noise, and the belts may appear fine but it may be stretched... if you're willing to deal with a little disassembly, unhooking hoses, spilling some water, you can probably handle this.... Good luck and let me know if you need any more assistance..

Sounds like you need a technician to diagnose the timer of the unit. Also the sensor that communicates to the timer.

We pulled our stacked washer out from the wall to service the cold water hose filter on the back of the unit. when we pushed it back into it's location the washer won't start, won't fill...

I know you don't want to hear this, but either you did something to the hose filter or you didn't get it plugged back in correctly.

If you banged the water inlet valve in moving it back, it might be damaged.

Suggest you unplug everything and start over.

Does GE make the Frigidaire brand washing machine? and if so will the pump out of the Frigidaire work in the GE washing machine?

Hello, welcome to FixYa. The GE frontloads of several years ago where indeed made by Figidaire ( not the other way around) though GE now make their own as do Frigidaire/Electrolux and no longer have anything in common. The GE that had been built by Frigidaire used identical pumps, you'll just need to provide a model number of the unit in question and I can tell what pump it uses...and what washers it will work in. Thanks for choosing FixYa today. Regards, Macmarkus :)

It fills up..washes..but wont drain or spin out..

I had the same problem. Checked the pump and it ran fine. Took off the door locking mechanism and put 120 ohms into the wax motor part and it tested fine too. I read about problems with that wax motor so I replaced the complete door switch today for $71.00 and the washer runs perfectly now. If it won't spin or even fully drain I suggest replacing the door switch.

Slow letting out of water

Hi, Remove the two screws at the bottom of the front panle. Then insert a flat blade screw driver into the gap between the top and the front panel. There are spring clips on each end. The front panel should then drop down and release. You will be able to see all the hoses.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

check the lid switch. it is the one closing when ever you close the lid of the unit.

once the lid is close, the contact should be closed, if the lid is open, the contact is open also.

tnx 4 using fixya,
