Question about Delphi MyFi SA10113 XM Radio Receiver with Home and Car Kit

1 Answer

In both my car cradle and my home dock I have to put a piece of paper behind the radio and try numerous positions with the paper to get my radio to charge or even play. It doesn't seem to charge at all in the car cradle. It seems to me that the contacts have loosened on the radio since it doesn't really sit right in either cradle.

I have the same problem and use the same method you describe...the problem is getting worse, and I fear soon I will not be able to charge the unit even doing this.

I posted on this myself looking for solutions, and then discovered the solution my self. The base pin connectors at the bottom of the receiver apparently become loose, and in order to make a good connection you need to push/pull the top of the receiver forward to achieve a connection. In the car cradel, I do this by jamming something between the receiver and cradel at the top to force and hold it forward). In the home base, I pull it forward at the top, and prop it that way with something heavy behind it. No one ever posted on how to take the unit apart and actually fix the loose connection.

Sounds like its the dock itself. Have you tried using the home dock with the vehicle power or visa versa? This should help you confirm what the problem is. You can get a replacement power adapter here:

A cradle may be difficult to find, but TSS Radio can help you look.

I have 12 volt power coming to the cradle, and power coming out of the pin connector in cradle, but the SP5 does turn on.

Check the center pin on your unit, and also check if your dock connector has any damage. If it is not damaged, then push on the unit while it is docked. If it turns on after 30 seconds then you have a cold solder joint on your power connector. Just remove the back cover and solder the barrel connector's pins back down. There is one on the left and one on the right, both must be soldered in order to receive power.

My roady xt does not have a fm select option on the menu

You need to have it in the AUTO base/cradle - AND - you cannot have anything plugged into the LINE OUT or AUX OUT jack, as it will disable the FM transmitter. Try unplugging the audio output, then you'll be able to select the FM transmitter again. I believe that they removed the option from the HOME cradle/dock all together because of regular AM/FM radio stations complaining to the FCC that the transmitters were too strong (in other words, they wanted to hurt satellite radio competition or slow it down as much as possible by forcing Sirius and XM go back and redesign their radios for a much weaker or NO FM transmitter).

My Starmate 5 constantly has to acquire signal in my car at home it works perfectly.Any suggestions?

Check the antenna's connector for your car based antenna. Sometimes the little finger tabs need to be gently pushed back towards the center to make a better connection. Be careful not to move them more than a precision screwdrive blade's width or you might snap it off.

Does pioneer have a car cradle for the inno2 that secures it better i have gone through so many of them and now my warranty is up. i operate heavy equipment and it causes my inno to fly out of the cradle,...

I feel your pain. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any car docks, there all discontinued. (sorry bums!)
But, when I'm riding my motorcycle, I put a rubber band around the radio and dock, holding it in place.
But, in a place that doesn't interfere with any buttons or the display.

Pioneer inno radio-doesn't work in car

When its in the car dock, the Inno sends an FM signal to the car radio. It does not receive a signal from the car radio. You must have the external antenna correctly installed outside the vehicle for the Inno to work. The built in antenna is disabled when the device is placed in the car dock. Make sure to test it outside, since garages or car ports will block the signal.

Make sure it is docked in the docking cradle for the car. The option will not come up if the unit is not in the docking cradle.

Satellite radio antennas do tend to fail sometimes. In the early days of Sirius/XM they were made a lot better, but now I've had problems with them a lot more frequently. If the antenna is plugged in securely and it still shows the 'antenna' error code, you most likely need to replace your antenna. It is possible that something else along the antenna signal path is causing your problem - Sometimes the antenna connections in the dock or the receiver itself can cause the issue, but most likely it is the antenna.
