Check the upper and lower limit switches on the heating duct. they act like fuses and and pop if the go bad. to check. first unplug dryer then remove back panel. the heat tube should be on the right and have two disc looking things with two wires going to them. check top one first. pull wires off and with jumper wire connect the two wires together. now plug dryer in and check to see if it heats. if not check the lower one. do not run dryer for longer then i takes to see if coils heat up. if still no heat then u need to pull heating element off and check for an open in the coil.

Does Not Shut Off

1st go the the house breaker (dbl breaker) for the dryer and shut it off and turn it back on, your dryer runs on 220 volts of power but if the breaker is partially tripped it may be only running on 110 volts which is only enough power to turn the lights on and to turn the drum the element needs 220 volts to turn on. If it still doesn't heat after resetting the breaker then you may need a heating element or thermostat. The dryer isn't shutting off because it isn't detecting the clothes are getting dry so once you fix your heating problem the dryer should start shutting off on its own again.

Doesnt dry clothes, every opening i have unclogged, even outside vent is clear.basket rolls but heat is room temp. no matter what setting.

Hi, I experienced the same problem with my Maytag electric dryer. I finally fixed the problem after I checked the actual vent pipe (which allows air to discharge to the outside of your home). What I found was quite surprising. I found was a mouse nesyt in this pipe. Once I removed the mouse next,m my electric dryer worked fine. Just a thought. Good Luck!

Roper elec dryer starts and runs for 10 sec then stops runnning

Hi

If the dryer is not drying the clothes then you would need to check for the following things-

1. Inspect the fuses and circuit breakers they may have burned out or tripped. Usually, dryer will still tumble but not create heat if a fuse or a circuit breaker is not working.
2. Check for the amp reading at 240 V, it should have reading of 24, 21 and 3 amp (approx.) for 2 lines and neutral respectively.
3. Heating element may have turned or the connection to the element might be loose. Sometimes a shorted circuit element will keep on blowing the fuse or circuit breaker.
4. Motor wiring shorting to ground.

Hope this helps...

My dryer stop heating and will not dyr bt the tub turns and still but out air

Hi,

Check the blown fuses and home’s circuit breaker tripped. Dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, If one is blown, the dryer may still operate but not heat. Alternatively, the dryer may heat, but it may not heat up as hot as it should. Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.

Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat is a faulty Heating Element. You will need to replace it.

Good Luck and have a nice day.

I had to replace a house breaker so turned off all outside breakers including dryer. Now the dryer will run but not get hot. Is there a reset button or something that was triggered when changed breaker?

Hi, welcome to fixya. It sounds to me like your 30amp breaker for the dryer isn't fully reset. If that is the case the unit could only be running on 120v, which it will do just fine...with one exception. No heat. Turn the dryer breaker all the way off again and back "on" and give it a go. Let me know what you find, I'll be looking for your reply here. Good luck Macmarkus :)

RE: Roper Electric Dryer, front load

You have a ground fault or short . Disconnect dryer and remove small panel that holds the cord. Check if any wires are frayed, loose or touching any other metal objects.
