My garmin 755t power on stop working!!!

HI, same problem. I bought my 755t just over a month ago. I found a solution on this site.
U can opt to have garmin fix it (who knows how long it may take?) or if you are handy, there are 2 little screws at the back of the 755 remove them and pry the back cover open. Just be very careful not to disturb the wires too much. Disconnect the battery and reconnect it 10 or 15 minutes later. That's all. Close the cover and replace the 2 screws. Install latest software I think it is version 3.60.

There is software bug that comes up randomly and sets the unit into an update loop that is with version 3.40 on a certain day of the year. I think on the longest day of the year. Anyhow, I fixed mine 3 days ago it works flawlessly.

C330 does not work

I wouldn't suggest opening your unit, the garmin manual says that once the unit is opened your warranty is void. Have you tried resetting the unit? Here is how you do that:

Brand new Garmin nuvi 755t won't power up.

i have had the same problem obviously. all i did was get a TORX TX5 screw driver and open up 2 screws. carefully lift off the cover(its just snapped in). Warning: battery and speaker are attached to the cover so do not pull the cover off or it will break the wire. carefully unplug the battery and leave it out for a 20 mins or so. plug it back in and it should power up and then connect it to internet, download webupdater and update. thats it and the problem is fixed.

Iway 350c GPS battery

I don't know if this is the recommended way. Hold the unit facing you and look at the top of the unit. There is a seam about ¼” from the front. I simply used a small jewelers screwdriver and inserted it at the top of the unit about 1" from the side. I lifted the front section a little bit. It released one of six tabs that hold the face plate in place (two on top and two on each side). Repeat the same step on the other side then the sides. When you remove the face plate the silver on/off button will fall out, but don’t worry about that. Here is the tricky part. It has four star screws holding the back of the case to the electronics unit. I took a trip to the local Harbor Freight store and bought a star wrench set for $3.99. Remove the four screws and presto you can take the back casing right off. The batteries are at the bottom, but I can’t find any info on what type they are, so I don’t know what to replace them with, at least not yet.

Screen freeze and unit has gone dead -C320

If the unit is out of warranty, you have nothing to loose by opening it.

If you open the unit, look for its battery. I cannot remember if the battery is soldered in or is on contact connectors. If the battery is solder connected you will need a small soldering iron, the skills, and some proper tools.

Disconnect the battery on one side, and wait about 30 seconds. Now connect (solder) the battery back again. This will make it do a hard re-start.

If the unit is still failing, or does not start, check the battery with a DVM to see if it is at the proper voltage. Read the label on the battery to know the voltage.

It is also possible that there is a hardware failure. Inside many of these models there is an inverter board. Sometimes this inverter board can fail, and need to be replaced. The cost of the board for this model is about 50% of the cost of a new model unit. Also, if the inverter board has failed, you would need to be able to do some tests to know if there are other faults. This you cannot do without the proper set-ups, service information, and training.

Do you know where you got your battery?

I have successfully changed the battery in two Quest II units. While it may not be for some who are intimidated by the inner workings of electronic devices2_bing.gif, it is not that hard either. You will need a small Phillips head screwdriver. Removed the back by removing the 6 small Phillips head screws on the back. Use caution with the two screws that hold the endcap for the antenna. It is not a problem if the endcap comes off, but there is a small spring holding tension on the antenna and if it pops out, it is easily lost. Handle the two parts of the GPS gently as there are wires that joining the two sections. The battery is held into the back section of the GPS with some glue but it is easily removed with gentle prying. Use a small flatbladed screwdriver to remove the plug from the battery to the circuit board. This should be all that is needed with the old battery. A new battery can be obtained from They sell the direct replacement for the Quest and Quest II GPS units. When you go to their website, there is a list of various devices they sell batteries for. Click on GPS. This will bring up a page for various manufacturers. Select Garmin, and look for Quest. I think the battery runs around $25.
After plugging the new battery in, you may want to use a small dab of glue to secure it to the back side of the unit like the original battery. Reassemble the unit, reversing the process with the front and the back. The Quest units have a rubber sealing gasket between the two sections. Be sure you inspect that for kinks before tightening the 6 small screws. I would suggest the screws be tightened down gradually so uniform pressure will be applied to the gasket. I would tighten one screw down partially then move to the opposite side and criss-cross the unit until all screws are snug. Again, inspect the gasket for proper seating and you are done.
