You will have to replace them. Turn off your breakers before you start to work here. I would check to see why this happened. Is it very old or was it poorly installed. Sounds like it could also be inadequate wiring during installation. This could have easily been a fire.

We have a Kenmore model C970-440994 and we had an F10 code appear and now the broiler stays on all the time, what is the problem?

Please shut off the circuit breaker or unscrew the fuse, or somehow disconnect this range from the electrical power source, or you may very quickly have a fire.
3 Likely answers to your problem.
1) The broiler control switch has shorted out inside, it has "burned up".
2) Two of the wires, or more, have shorted out inside the range and are touching, or have melted together.
3) Wires inside the wall socket are touching or have shorted out.
God bless your efforts.

My frigidaire oven overheated last night, we unplugged it and replugged this morning with a PF on the face. The plastic has melted a little. What should we do?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire range overheated, so you unplugged it and plugged it in the next morning. I also see that when you plugged it back in there was a "PF" code displayed as well as some melted plastic. The "PF" code means that there was a power failure. You can clear that by pressing any button. As far as your appliance overheating and melting plastic, I suggest contacting the manufacturer directly for further assistance. They might be able to point you in the right direction to have it repaired. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

This sounds like it could be a 3 phase unit, I am not familiar with the model number.

The thermostat keeps burning

Check for loose wiring connections between the t-stat and the elements. Sometimes it will melt the wires, sometimes it will burn the contacts inside the thermostat.

I have a Kenmore model 790.95592 30" free standing range with self-cleaning function that I think has an eletronic function problem. The oven burner elements start on its own and fluctuates to danger

Dear Ernie,
I am very glad you asked. As a retired firefighter, and an electrician, I can say you were just about to have a fire.
The most likely problem is a "meltdown".
Something has melted, and is causing a direct short circuit.
Lightning or power surges can do this.
Please turn off the circuit breaker, and unplug, or disconnect the wires to the back of the stove.
Start by looking where the wires go into the back of the stove.
See if there is visible burning or smoke or blackness.
You might be able to fix this, buy re-wiring the stove, but if the controls are melted, you may be needing a replacement stove.
An electric meter will be really helpful to find the problem, but with the way you have described this, you may be able to see or smell the burned part.
God bless your efforts.

Battery isolator wiring diagram

The positives are separated by the selector switch.
Therefore negatives (or negative earths) can be commoned and left connected to batteries.
As a circuit needs to complete a closed loop from battery positive through the selected switch contact through the load 'caravan' then back to negative, the unselected negatives don't do anything.
So, YES WE CAN. :)
Hope this helps.

Blower fan only runs in positions 1-3, not on 4; relay or resistor?

Remove blower motor resistor and check to see if it discolored or melted. if so then replace blower motor resistor, also blower motor speeds 1-4 go through resistor, 5 goes direct from switch to blower motor. check wire harness connector at resistor, it should have six wires five power wires that corralate with the five settings on switch, so in each switch setting one wire should have power. the sixth wire is the ground. also harness connector to resistor it may be melted, if so go to dealer with vin number and get new harness connector with resistor.
I hope this helped.

I have a Jenn-Air Model # JER8885QCS range which is 3 years old. The bottom oven coil is not heating up. When I replaced the coil, I noted the old one was burned in one spot & melted apart. However,...

First off, check to see if it is still under warranty. You will need the Model #, and Serial # before you talk to the factory. The unit is either single phase (2 separate 120v circuits) or 3 phase, (3 separate 120v circuits) To check voltage properly you CANNOT check voltage to ground. You have to check wire to wire. you will get a reading of 208, or 240 volt. On a 3 phase, you need to check all 3 wires to each other, and MUST come up with either 208, or 240v between ALL wires.

How do you wire a 120v. lite timer?

Most timers such as intermatic will have a preinstalled jumper going from the line side terminals to the clock itself. Depending on what clock you have, there should be power going from the line side to the clock somewhere.

Element Melted - Turned White Hot/on fire and would not go out

You need to replace the element. Very easy to do. Cut power off at the breaker or unplug the stove FIRST (please!). Remove the two 1/4" screws securing the element to the oven cavity then two wires to the element just unplug. The wires can go either way. Call 1-800-626-2002 or go to the GE Appliance web site for the part. It is a WB44T10011 for the lower (bake) element and WB44T10009 for the top (broil) element.
