USB port randomly not working

I'm having an issue where the USB port on the unit is randomly not working, it will continually flash "check" when I plug in the thumb drive and just keeping checking endlessly, i've tried unplugging and plugging the flash drive back in with no luck, i've plugged the flash drive up to my pc and everything on it is just fine. Sometimes it will actually working tho, the problem only just starting happening recently and nothing has changed in the vehicle. I was wondering if anyone else have experienced this and possibly found a way to fix it? Thanks!

Re: USB port randomly not working

Sounds like dirty contacts on the radios faceplate. If this radio is a flipdown face style then I'd suspect the contacts on the back of the faceplate that connect to the radio when you close the face. Cleaning agents vary from pencil erasers to rubbing alcohol...

Trying to play flash drive in USB port on stereo

Make sure that the music files are indeed mp3 format. An iPod will play several different formats but most av head units only play mp3. A lot of the songs that are downloaded from iTunes are actually mp4

Connect mp4 player to usb

USB ports on car stereos are not designed to be universal, regardless of what the USB acronym implies. They are typically designed for a specific product, either iPhone, Android, Blackberry, or a combination of those. They usually work with a blank flash drive (no operating system on it). That would be my recommendation: Buy a flash drive. $5-$10 invested will probably get you more storage than the GoGear and will work with USB.

The reason USB sounds better than the auxiliary input is because with auxiliary, the D-to-A (Digital to Analog) conversion is done by the GoGear, while with USB it is being done by the car stereo.

Usb port dont work on car cd player

Need to check your User Manual for USB specifications.

USB port can only recognise certain formats, so you may need to either change your USB device's File System (e.g. convert to FAT32) or convert your files into a format the unit will recognise.

My pyle pl88mu its not reeding the USB flash driver everything else works fine but the usb its not working and i tried with 3 different USB's

  • Typically these units can only read FAT32 formated drives. check to make sure that the drive is formated FAT32.
  • You can insert the USB drive in to your computer. Go to Start -> My Computer then navigate to the USB Drive. Right click on the drive and view properties. Check under file system. If it says NTFS please continue reading.
  • You can format your USB medium on your PC to FAT32 then copy your media (music) to the the USB drive.
  • Insert your USB Drive to the PC On your PC navigate to Start ->MY Computer Then locate your the drive that is your USB Drive. At this time you will want to save any of your data before continuing. All Data on the USB drive will be lost. Next ensure that you have selected the correct drive.
  • Right Click on the drive on go to format... Under File System select FAT32. I would suggest leaving Quick Format unchecked. So you ensure that will information is removed. Then Click start. Next copy your media (music) back to the USB Drive.
  • Try inserting back in to your stereo.
Hope that helps, don't forget to vote.

Kenwood in dash reciever will not read compact disks or USB

The problem is definetely a fault in the Mp of the set as it is not able to process the data from the flash memory or the CD. If will be good to open the set and do a through check for loose connections, faulty ground or joints inthe main PCB. Remove dust and fix back, Also clean your optical lens and drive unit. Fix them back and check again . If it works you are lucky or else the main processor is faulty. Hope you try this Good day
