Question about Philips GoGear SA178 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Fried buttons So my niece threw my mp3 player into a little bit of water. It was not comepletley submerged but water did get in. I was not concerned because I thought nothing would happen since it got washed in teh washer once and it stll worked prfectly. Anyways the play button and the 3 buttons on the top and the hold button work but the skip song and volume control buttons do not. They are probably fried. Help please, what can I do?

My zune fell out of my pocket while I was working in the rain and got wet. Not sure how long it was out-maybe 20 minutes-but still worked for a little while. It shut off a bit later and won't restart. ...

yeah you should have shut it off right after it got wet and let it dry completely, by letting it run with water in it you probably fried the battery and internal circuitry

Display "fried". No, literately, its fried.

May need replacing, but
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
