I had my blades sharpened and sent them back cause they would not cut. They catch the hair in the blade instead of cutting. I have been trying to line them up again. Not sure of if there is a way to know they are set properly? Can these blades ware out and be no good anymore? Help me know if I can solve this problem please.

Re: Blades are not cutting
Hi, yes blades can wear out but your sharpener should advise if there is a problem with them. check to make sure the clipper is moving your blades and your blade cannot be removed without depressing the latch. If your are experiencing tram lines with larger blades then it is more likely to be a clipper problem. However if your blades just wont cut i would recommend a new sharpener as it is a specialist area.

Sometimes the new blades from Andis are not sharpen enough to get that clean cut. also all trimmers need to be readjusted for power and alignment, plus sharpening the blade, it look like you need a complete sharpen & service on your Andis trimmer. check out Manny's Sharpening they have a Mail Order service, the service they provide is fast and they will sharpen make all the adjustment and give your trimmer more power and the blade will cut clean. They will even adjust the blade at your request on how you want that blade to be set at. Line Ups or Fade Cuts and even shave set. Manny's Sharpening been around for over 20 years and they have a very good rating on the net.

Try replacing the Drive Lever which is located at the end of the clipper and goes from side to side, simply undo the two screws on the name plate/ gearbox cover and remove then pull the lever out. This is the most likely cause if you experiance the same problem with all blades.
On the Andis T-Outliner or Outliner if you have use the trimmer for more than 3 hair cuts or 3 time or more I do not recommend moving the blade, reason why is that you have all ready start or have a sit in or a grooved, I have found that by moving the blade it won't cut at all.You need to resharpen the blade with a professional sharpener and have them reset the blade for the type of hair cut you want. The blade can be set to shave or do line ups, and Fades. This type of trimmer is for that kind of hair cut the professional barber use them all the time. I have try many sharpener and had no luck, until a friend of mind told me about Mannys Sharpening, They know what they are talking about highly Professional in thier work.
not usually we will not sharpen blades that are worn out as we cannot charge for something that does not cut!
make sure your blade is connecting with the drive of your clipper they might need an extra push depending if the blade has been adjusted.
have you tried taking apart the blades and replacing them so that they line up together? Have you had a professional shear sharpener look at your blades? mabie all they need is to be sharpened again. Blades like knives or scissors need to be sharpened every once in a while. Also try replacing the blades with a new ones. The blades may have worn out. also try oiling the blades every once in a while.
if you put oil on the blades does it help if you remove the blade you should see the pivot what make the blades moves hair preventthe blades from moving freely after if it still weak motor is weak not mush to do with that pricewise better by andnother one cheers
