Drum on Brother MFC-7420

My all-in-one printer keeps telling me that I need to change the drum soon. I bought a new drum inserted it into the printer and now I can't print anything. Plus, it is still telling me that I need to "Change Drum Soon"....What do I do?

GuruWhy does the message "CHANGE DRUM SOON" continue to appear on the LCD display of my Brother machine, after I replaced the drum?
Description:
This message would continue to appear if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum. To reset the drum counter, follow the instructions listed below.
Open the front cover.
Press the Options key on the control panel.
The display will show "REPLACE DRUM - 1.YES 2.NO".
Press 1 to reset the drum count.
Close the front cover.
