You need to open your audio settings and make sure your mic is not muted.

HP laptops built in mic sound is messed up.

Check the windows audio settings from the bottom right , right click , select adjust audio properties , and make sure your microphone is set to it's highest levels , the screech can be caused by feedback so turning down your speakers may help with this. Skype also has audio configuration settings of their own , check the audio settings on skype and configure as required , doesn't sound like a hardware fault tbh

You will need a second cable from the headphone socket on the laptop to the audio in on the tv.if it doesn't have an audio in then you need a scart to 3.5mm stereo jack lead to hear sound.

you need to go in the menue under audio, there should be a prompt for mode, or something like that, should be able to switch between music, movie, sports, and so on, if you cant find in there, look for an audio button on the remote, hit that, see if it has those settings in it

Please confirm make and model of operating system. If it is XP, then it is worth removing the hardware and restarting. You do this from Start,Control Panel , Add hardware.
Tell me if this helps. Then reboot and it should start by detecting the hardware and finding the droivers which you have.

Hi,
check audio out cables ( usually white and red ) unless HDMI.
Also see if theres another alternative output socket.
If non of these resolve your problem, possible audio amplifier/fets damaged.
