Question about 5701 VIPER 5701 2-WAY ALARM w/REMOTE START
Hi, I was in the store and must have hit some buttons on the two way remote by mistake. Now when I push any button nothing works and I get a red light and a buzzing sound, but my spare one way remote works anybody have any ideas how to reset my 2 way remote so it will work?. I called VIPERS support and waited 1 hour on hold and finally hung up. This companys support SUCKS!!!! Also Vipers support recorded message says I have a CRASH CARD in my box and I don`t see and crash card can someone PLEASE tell me what it is. Thanks,,,,,,PJ
You have the key pad lock turned on. It protects the keys from unwanted pressing when in your pocket. To unlock you hit the F key then the unlock key, you can now use any command untill you let it set for 60 seconds, then it locks again.
to stop this totally, u hold down the F key for 12 seconds it will beep and top light turns orange, then hold down the unlock key for 2 seconds, it beeps then u hit the lock key to turn off this feature (top green light goes out). then hold F down, and F down again, should b good to go!

Directed will be shipping out new brians in the next few months with a firmware update that resolves this issue completely. Depending on where it was purchased, I would believe most retailers will do a swap for you when those are shipped and become available. In the meantime there is a fix. Place a 10,000 ohm resistor in series with the blue wire on the antenna lead as close to the brain as possible. Hope this helps!

Try removing the 15 amp fuse on the red wire going to the alarm brain for a few minutes. Then reinstall the fuse. I have the Clifford version of this alarm/remote start and had to do this a couple of times. Not sure what DEI recommends as I installed mine myself and DEI won't give any support. As far as a crash card you don't need it you just have to wait forever on hold and they will troubleshoot it by model number. But they will just tell you to take it to your nearest dealer and have them check it out.
