yes - the antenna is connected, and when the audio is received, the sound is nice an clear.....it just comes and goes

I have the same thing happening......I have a Denon AVR-889. Audio on the tuner is intermittent. I have TV and Vblu-ray connected via HDMI.

I discovered that if the TV is on before I try the tuner - sound is fine. Even if I turn off the TV the sound remains fine.

If I turn the tuner on first and no TV - audio is intermittent. I'm guessing that there's some kind of HDMI prolem - even though the tuner function has nothing to do with HDMI

Wow - it works for me too! Very strange - I have a TV connected with HDMI, and a DVD connected with HDMI. I have no idea why that would impact the turner audio - but apparently it does. Wonder how many other people are having the same problem?

THANKS a TON! I will just have to remember to turn my TV on first when I want to listen to my favorite radio stations.....

I have the same issue, and i believe it may be an issue with setting the audio input source to 'auto'. the radio may be stuttering because the receiver is changing from different audio modes such as 'dolby digital' to '5ch stereo' (for example) when it detects a change in the radio signal

Denon requires that you assign video to specific ports. HDMI, RCA or any other- you have to select which type and which port and you will get video.

I have a denon receiver avr 1909 and the remote control volume button do not work. A new remote control for this receiver is available?

If you mean a replacement, then I would contact Denon they should be able to tell you where and who can supply one. Generally replacement remotes are very expensive. So you might want to consider a universal one.

Intermittent Audio when set on "tuner"

You may have to ( first unplug it from the wall) then pull the top case.
Locate the tuner board , it will be the one with the antenna connections sticking out the rear of the rec'r.
If there's some way to pull the circuit board up and out of a socket/sockets , try that and re-install it.

Other than that I may be able to help you find a good tech.

Denon avr-1909 crackling sound while watching Uverse HD.

It may may the the AT+T box is really not compatible with the AVR or the Pioneer.

Check the specs on those input/outputs for the Ubox and the receiver.
See if they agree. If so, try another hookup method like HDMI ( which carries the audio too)
